We should do a contract that is opposite of the Big 10. So when they are in Indy, we are in Chicago. When they are in Chicago, we are in St. Louis.

KC....please. If I want to time warp to the 70's, then I will visit KC.

Would Indy be an option once the Big 10 moves back to the United Center in the future?

I think the overall draw at the United Center would be much better than St. Louis.

LOL guess you haven't been to KC in a while. Or if you have you didn't go to the right places....

Chicago is not a great College sports town.

There also isn't much going on near the Uniter Center (hotels, bars, places to eat). Fans would have to cab it from hotels to the games, while in St. Louis you can walk it or take the Metro.

I don't know what the mileage looks like for all the MVC cities. But it's 700 miles to Chicago from Wichita.

They better leave soon then.... :)

Don't kid yourself though....There are plenty of bars around the United Center....I have been to tons of Bulls and Hawks bars before/after games that are all well within walking distance (and not hole in the wall). Plus, most of those bars have free shuttles to the United Center if you don't feel like getting the excercise. As far as places to eat, take your pick....it's chicago. I don't see what's so wrong with taking a cab (take the El then). Most hotels offer shuttle service as well. The way I figure it is that Chicago is an international destination. If you are going to check out the MVC tourney there are plenty of tourist things that can be done, for example Wrigleyville (The Stretch is a Redbird Bar), Sears Tower, Blues Bars, Weed St. Field Museum/Shedd, Metro/Doubledoor/Riv (are the Bears still playing at that point?).

Only thing I don't know is hotels...never had to stay in one in Chicago, but I imagine much pricier than St. Louis. But hey, if the Big10 can do it successfully, why not the MVC. Only problem I see is an overwhelming amount of Redbird, Brave and Saluki fans compared to other fanbases. Although there are some other nearby MVC teams that could probably draw pretty well too.

For MVC fans looking for entertainment outside of the MVC tourney (if you get knocked out), I think Chicago has way more to offer than St. Louis or KC.

We can agree to disagree on this. I had season tickets for the Bulls during the Jordan years. I don't think the area around the UC is that great at all. Sure there are a couple of places to go but really you have to head to UIC to find good places, IMO. After a night game, I am not walking more than a few blocks North or West.

And the hotel thing is a huge issue. I doubt you are going to find hotels dishing out shuttles to UC for the MVC tourney. And your right, the price is crazy high in Chicago. Not to mention the parking fees that go with those places.

Keep in mind everything in St. Louis from hotels, to bars, to places to eat are all within 2-3 miles of the Scottrade Center.

And who has time to any museums's or zoo's during the tourney anyways? It's wall to wall basketball! :D
And a few bar's thrown in before and after games. :D

It should stay in St. Louis. Easy to get around. Good seats in the arena and most of all the Hill is not in any other city. STAY IN ST. LOUIS

Things have definitely changed since the Jordan years. Lots of building going on around the UC (kicking the trash out). However, I do agree with you on the hotels (something I Know little about since its a 30min drive). Is this maybe one of the reasons the Big10 changed locations or was it just time for a change for them? I just figured, if the Big10 has done it for years, then there must be a way. I have actually attended the big10 tourney when it was at the UC and it didn't seem all that bad, however, I have never attended the MVC tourney (but plan on it soon).

The Missouri Valley title should be played in Missouri. The conference office is also located there. It isn't moving. (KC would be a fun change of pace though)

3 questions: What arena would it be at? Who plays there? Which side of the state line is it on?
