Pretty damn good.

Ill St is obviously the biggest miss/disappointment. Indiana St surpassed expectations a bit. WSU was always a wild card, and they ended up on the good end of predictions. Everything else is pretty close.

I'm too lazy to find it, but it would be interesting to bump the pre-season prediction thread and see who was most on target

I dont know why on earth they had Bradley and Indiana state so low. Actually the predictions were pretty far off, but so were mine. Other than those two, Wichita did a little better than expected, If they win the league quite a bit better, and then of course Illinois State. Really the predictions were pretty far off but who could of predicted Illinois State to be where they are now.

What's even more amazing about this is that these were made just based on the Shocks losing 5 starters and 80% of their offense. It didn't take in to account that 4 starters would be out significant time with injuries and 2 for most likely the rest of the season (over half of the season). Ya, I'd say WSU did "a little better than expected". :?

comparing where in the standings teams are now, to where they were predicted preseason. Thats what the topic is. You guys are slightly better than predicted, if you win Saturday, I will say quite a bit better.

What an expert analysis. Thanks Dickie V

I don't recall my exact prediction order 1-10 but I missed badly on three teams: Missouri State, Wichita State, and Illinois State.

For MSU I loved the new guys and thought they would have jelled from day one in November due to the Costa Rica trip. We beat some of the finest professional teams in Costa Rica by huge margins so that really caused me to elevate expectations. They didn't embarrass themselves completely this year but it has been a pretty big disappointment in the end.

I would have been floored in the late summer if you told me that WSU would be vying for the MVC title with CU in the final day of the season. Yeah right. I mean maybe if Doug McDermott decided that he was bored with basketball and decided to join a traveling circus of something. But here we are. And WSU is the best team in the league (regardless of what happens today). I don't like the program really nor Gregg Marshall but he has done a whale of a job. I was completely off the mark here. Props to WSU.

Illinois State is some kind of enigma wrapped inside a rubiks cube that is wearing the white Levi jeans that ISURed undergrads love so well. New coach so I should have factored in that a little better but I always thought Jankovic was terrible. Perhaps the Carmichaels,Allens, and Ekeys of the world just aren't coachable. These boys are dangerous in single elimination tournaments...and hey there are a couple of those coming up. But they will have to make a nice run there in order to salvage a pretty disappointing season.

also people underestimated the value of departed point guard, nic moore. I was surprised they dug such a big hole to start the conference play, but they're still a good team that I don't wanna face in st. louis.
