Drake, Drake, Drake, UNI did EVERYTHING they could to get you out of Thursday, and you wouldn't take it. I was cheering for you, hoping to see another "Illinois Invitational" Thursday in St. Louis, like it was in 2011.

Obviously any of those teams are capable of beating the Shox. However, I am very happy Evansville and Indiana St are on the opposite side of the bracket. Shox just don't play we'll against those teams typically for some reason.

If Illinois St can find a way to get by UNI, it sets up for a pretty interesting game between IlSU and WSU.

I wouldn't mind Illinois State again.

I'd love to knock them sideways after last year's semifinal and this year's treatment by students, fans, and coaches in Normal.

First thing's first though. Missouri State or SIU will be difficult.

Atlantic Ten: 1

Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

Yes, a personal thanks to SIU for helping us avoid them until Saturday.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

Not sure who will be playing in the Final round. Very hard to predict. I'd like to be a homer and say the Shockers will end their drought, but realistically they'll need to play better basketball over the next 3 games to have a shot.

I don't know why you hated our performance today. If the Shocks can repeat today's performance next weekend the only team that can beat us is CU.

A performance is not just your offense. Our defense had simple, fundamental mistakes that led to many easy buckets. If we played like that for even one half, we lose. Oh wait, we tried that. Evansville won that game on Wednesday, shooting 67% in the first half.

That's why we have to play better. The Shockers may have been decent on offense (how much of that was Creighton?), but they don't win games if they let their opponent shoot over 50% from the field, let alone 70%. We are defense first, defense second, and defense third.
