Jays fans let me be honest here I want you to go, yes it will hurt the conference for a few years, but I am sure the conference will find a suitable replacement that eventually will raise their level and the Valley will be close to the level it has been at.

But if you leave the Valley that means that the conference doesn't have to put up with your arrogant, pompous fan base that has a delusional idea about the importance of your basketball program on a national stage. I will also enjoy watching you finish in the bottom 4 of this new conference and never even sniff the NCAA tournament.

Have Fun!

I'm pretty sure DePaul will become the DePaul of the new big east.

Sucks for Baseball, but Basketball is where Creighton makes a living. We would have the potential to consistently be a sweet 16 threat. Something that you can't have with consistency in any "mid-major" league. You can get lucky, or have the occasional great team that gets to the sweet 16, but never on a consistent basis. Although Gonzaga has gotten to that point somehow.

Creighton has been to the NCAA tournament 9 times since 1999, including this year. Them not making it to the Sweet 16 even one time during those appearances has absolutely nothing to do with the Valley, and has everything to do with Creighton's own personal failure within the tournament.

Blaming your ability to be a "Sweet 16 threat" on conference affiliation when in fact that conference has yielded CU more NCAA tournament appearances than any other league team is laughably stupid.

Furthermore, it might be a little optimistic to think that Creighton will be capable of qualifying for the NCAA tournament as frequently as they have been able to in the MVC when they will be competing in what seems to be a much, much more difficult league.

Being in a more difficult league does not make it more difficult to get at large bids. You can lose more games cause you are playing better teams. This is simple.
However, it does make it harder to get the auto bid. Half of the years we have made the NCAA tournament, we might not of made it if we wouldn't have won the Arch Madness. And in this new league, it would be much less likely to get that automatic bid that comes from winning the conference tourney.
However, what you don't seem to be realizing, is we would be able to recruit better players, we would have all this money from the TV deal that could help go into our basketball budget for facilities/recruiting expenses/coaches etc. We would be on national TV much more, have more recognition, more prestige. The level of recruits we could get could be MUCH higher. Which obviously, the quality of your basketball team has A LOT to do with the players you have. Anyone who thinks we would be a worse program by making this move is crazy. The first few years could be a little tough with the transition period, but sooner than later we would be in a better place than we are now as a program.

DeAnthony --

Stop saying "could of" and "would of".

It is "could've" of "could have", never "could of."

Thanks.

I will try to focus on proper spelling/grammar. I really would expect people to have enough common sense to understand sentences even if they aren't said perfectly, but I guess we all have our weaknesses. I mean come on man, is it really that big of a deal??? I come on here when I'm not working, I don't want to feel like i'm back in English class when I'm in my free time. But for your sake I will at least try a little harder to type properly.

By the way, I realize you meant "or" instead of "of", so It didn't bother me cause I understood what you meant. Turns out you aint so perfect after all bud. I will work on my grammar, if you work on being a little more humble.

LOL cu fans giving other cu fans grammar lessons on a message board. Priceless.

It is not about whether mvc teams will want to play cu, it is really will cu want to play any mvc teams. I can not forsee a mvc team turning down the offer.

LOL it really is pretty funny. And Creighton fans wonder why they are seen as elitists by many of the Valley fans. I try to stick up for my own fellow Jay fans, but in the end I just say things how I see them. Most Creighton fans are great, and in general I love our fans, but their is a particular breed of Jays fans that seem to think their own s*** don't stink. If you get what I'm saying. It's a shame when they look down upon Wichita, or Carbondale as being too "dirty" or Wichiturd as they call it. Just one example that comes to mind. Not all Jays fans are like this, but I completely understand why many people around the Valley see Creighton fans as being a little bit disconnected. Take a trip to Africa, and not the huntin elephants kind of trip you probably take. Go see what the people go through, and how real life is for most of the world, and then come back here and tell me how i said could of , instead of could have. I forgive you man, but let's get real here.

I wouldn't mind still playing Creighton and I would be surprised if there isn't something on the schedule because of the ties within the CU AD and Basketball program and UNI. I don't know if Creighton would be willing to do a home and home with UNI, but perhaps setting up some games in Des Moines would work. I would certainly rather play Creighton on a neutral floor than Iowa or Iowa State.

On the "if" question I don't think there is any question that Creighton should go if offered. I also think Creighton fans are overstating how far this new league will carry them. I am not sure how much cache this new league will carry since it won't be one of the Big 5 FBS leagues and it won't be hooked up with ESPN. Sure, it will have the names of Marquette, Georgetown and Villanova. But it seems to me it may just be a Super Atlantic 10, ahead of the MVC, but a step behind the Big Boys.

I'm sorry - it is a pet peeve of mine. I've let it go a ton of times already, but you make the same mistake about two or three times in every single post you make. I just couldn't take it any longer....
