Got a place you hit every March for the tourney? If so, what is it?

Pappy's Smokehouse
Best BBQ I have ever eaten. Lines can be long. Worth the wait.

Chili Macs Diner. Place is really small and only opened Monday thru Friday

If you can get up to the Hill for some Italian food, Cunetto's. But expect a long wait for a table. If you're in a night session, they do have lunch on weekdays until 2:00. Zia's is pretty good. Rigazzi's isn't as good as it used to be.

For frozen custard (ice cream to the rest of the world), go to Ted Drewes. The one on Chippewa is open this time of year. The one on Grand doesn't open until Memorial Day.

If you're looking for a steak and you don't want to pay "Mike Shannon's" prices, look at Tucker's down in the Soulard area. It's a little small so you might have to wait for a table. There is a nice Irish pub with live music a couple of doors down, too. I think the name is McGuirk's.

My favorite place to eat downtown that's not terribly expensive is Caleco's. It's menu is pretty varied. It's open really late, too.

P.S. - I am a local.

My favorite is a place called Benny's. It's a hole in the wall kinda bar, but they have amazing cheeseburgers, good beer, and for ridiculously low prices. I'd recommend it for a late night meal, and their open till 2 am! It's located just across the River in East St. Louis on MLK Jr. Drive. You can't miss it!

Also, Laclede's Landing has a handful of great places to eat, any of them there are very good if you like to stay in the atmosphere. Great atmosphere with a lot of Valley fans hang out there.

And Union Station has a lot of good places to eat, it is also a great atmosphere with a lot for a whole family, or even if its just you and the guys. Again, a Lot of Valley fans here.

Head to the east side of the river late at night for some real fun.

Agree on someone's suggestion of Pappy's. It's good stuff. Get there right when they open at 11 or a little before, and wait isn't too bad for lunch.

Crowne Candy is another good place for lunch, old time diner with Milk Shakes and such, and they make their own Candy too. It's kind of in the ghetto a little north of downtown.

Tucker's for Steak was very good when I went there.

Fitz's Rootbeer place is a great place for Family's to eat.

And if you have your wife/girlfriend along, there's a Bailey's chocolate bar you could take them to late at night.

Last year Union Station was a ghost town....everything seemed to be closed down/moved out. Is it still that way?

Zia's on the hill is great as is Charlie Gitto's on the hill area. (south of Scotttrade).

The Hacienda is pretty good for Mexican, and tons of pizza places around town.

One of the most interesting things to see in St. Louis in my book is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.
It is on Lindell, very interesting.

Plaza Frontenac is a good place for shopping.

Ask any Creighton fan and they'll tell you it's Sundecker's. Still wrapping my head around the fact that this year will most likely be the last in the Lou.

I would agree about Union Station. There just isn't that much left there. The last couple of times I've been there has only been between sessions to grab something in the food court.

Also, there is a Charlie Gitto's downtown, as well.

I haven't been to St. Louis in 4 years or so, so forget what I said about Union Station. It very well could be different now. 5-10 years ago it was pretty lively, and right next to the arena. Had a Hooter's, a Hard Rock Cafe, and much more inside.
