That said, you guys are looking in the wrong direction for opportunity. Not Tulsa. Akron, Kent, Ohio, and some of that talent in the MAC East who have to be frustrated that they can't ever get at-large bids.

I like this suggestion, If Dayton talks its way into the C-7, we should take a solid look at Akron. I like this team above all others mentioned so far.

what would those MAC teams do with football? Would the MAC allow them to keep football in the MAC and move all other sports to the MVC??

It's just a hunch, but I think so. MAC is much more willing to work with partial memberships than most.

They have affiliates in tertiary sports.

Every team with football is an all-sports member.

Temple was football only before leaving for new big east whatever conference.

Regardless Akron is not an option I don't believe.

and from espn tonight, now if they would only announce the finalized details.

The so-called Catholic 7, which is expected to add at least two more members before it begins competition in the 2013-14 school year, is made up of Georgetown, St. John's, Villanova, Seton Hall, Providence, Marquette and DePaul. Butler, Xavier and Creighton also will join the league, which will begin play in 2013, sources told McMurphy.
