UNI fans still joke about that to this day. It 100% turned the game. A complete and total 180...

Vanderbilt plays in the Paradise Jam with us next fall and Khan (who also posts here) requested that Jake take a full timeout towards the end of the first half just to stare at Stallings for the entire time.

Hahahaha Coach Stallings is great.. That would be hilarious... Should be a great game this Friday night.. I do not see Coach Muller doing a stare down though lol.... I just hope if you guys take ISU down, UNI goes on to win the whole thing...

That's exactly how I feel. If we can get past you guys, we are in pretty good shape for the weekend. Should be the best game of the day on Friday...

I'll never forget 2007.

The chanting battle in the stands between the SIU fanbase and Creighton fanbase were classic, culminating in a Creighton chant of "Why so quiet?" to the rowdy Saluki student section when Creighton had the game in hand.

That Deon sling is definitely the most memorable. The most enjoyable was Fontleroy popping a 3 to beat the Trees and then MSU went to the sweet 16. Losing that early round game would have prevented it.

I have to level with everybody and say that I have not had that seminal moment yet. There has really been a lot of heartbreak for me personally in this event. I love it but each year--especially lately--when we lose it has really been very discouraging and keeps me from having the desire to watch any more basketball for a while. I don't think I have watched a Sunday championship game that did not involve MSU in maybe 10 years. I was scanning this thread and it is surprising how much of it I vaguely recall. Perhaps I should loosen up, stop taking it so seriously/personally, and realize it is just a game. Maybe next year.

I agree about that Deon sling, i was a young'n and we had just walked into the arena (we must of been playing next) and literally that play happened before we even got to our seats. It's a faint memory, I just remember the whole arena going crazy.
Also, in 2003 when Creighton beat the hell out of SIU for the championship, 80-56. SIU and Creighton were both top 25 teams, and that rivalry made the Creighton-WSU rivalry look tame. Towards the very end with a few minutes left, we were already up 20 something, and coming down the court Kyle Korver set a screen at half court for the point guard to get it up the court. Well our guard was already dribbling almost full speed, and the screen blind-sided the SIU defender, he just ran into a wall and got knocked out, then it opened kyle for a 3 which he drained. Kyle didn't even need to set the screen and we were already up 20 some with only a few minutes left. Just the way he knocked him down with it and how we were just rubbing salt in their wound epitomized how much we hated each other. It seemed like the more the game got out of hand, the faster we pushed the pace, we were trying to see how much we could beat them by. For everyone else this game wouldn't even be a memory, but for all Jays fans, it mite be the best.

There is clips of this game in here, and even the play i was referring to towards the end.

Always love the Deon Jackson shot as a Bradley fan.

Here are 2 of my favorite moments from the last couple of years:

Will Franklin hitting a 3 to beat UNI in the first round in 2007:

And BU blowing out Creighton in the first round in 2010 after going down 9-0 and winning by 20. I think this put back dunk by Chris Roberts summed up that game:
