Gregg has said multiple times on radio and TV, and has been quoted in print, that he thought CU has a great team this year; possibly the best MoVal team he's seen during his time in the Valley. He also spoke highly of the CU crowd last Saturday stating that it was the loudest he ever experienced at Omaha.

Here's hoping CU and WSU meet in the finals of the Valley Tournament.

I sat right behind the WSU Bench last Saturday, and HCGM was classy pre-game, during the game, after the game, and in his post-game presser. I hope that we continue to play WSU in the future regardless of conference, despite some of the forum fans!

I do not like Gregg Marshall.. Do I think he is a great coach, Absolutely... Look what the guy did this year.... I wrote WSU off after the season ended last year for this year... Proved me wrong... but still does not change how I feel about him... Every single one of us does not enjoy the presence of someone in the world, and sometimes we just cannot explain it... haha I have no answers... maybe it is his yellow glasses, dang those things are hideous... :D

But I am glad these two characters "respect" each other.

None of us really know Greg Marshall personally so its hard to judge him. I've never thought of him as a bad guy, he just says a lot of things most coaches wouldn't say to the media, this doesn't make him bad or good, just who he is.
Also, I was thinking, maybe he was so complimentary after the game because of what he said prior to the game. It was quoted from Doug Gottlieb about a week prior to the Creighton-WSU game---
"Creighton guards no one," was what one Missouri Valley coach told me in the wake of the Bluejays' 74-66 loss to Saint Mary's. "They have no point guard and are way too offensive minded. In our league we can grind them and Saint Mary's did the same".
It's funny he says we have no point guard because Marshall tried to recruit Austin Chatman, but Chatman chose Creighton, and then really picked apart their defense a lot of the game. And Greggg I guess holding us to 91 points is really ggggrinding us out huh with that stellar defense. Maybe this is why he was being so complimentary after the game. Anyhow, regardless of what he has said, both good and bad, we don't know what kind of guy he is, but we know he is passionate. It's just funny a Jays fan posts something thats POSITIVE towards WSU and some shocker fans still bitch about it. Maybe Whiskeysierra and Wushock are women and it could be that time of month u know :) so lets be gentle with em.

In all fairness Deanthony, we don't know for sure that Marshall is the coach that made those comments to Gottlieb.

We do know that he made the Suburban Horse comment.

That had to be an assistant coach who said that. I don't think any head coach would be that flat out disparaging toward a player.

With the exception of his tirade/ behavior last year after losing to ISUr at the Lou last year ( and he was NOT a credit to his school or team in that instance), his interviews & press conferences that I have seen were pretty good. He wears his heart on his sleeve to a certain extent. IMO, he is a very good coach, with this year being a prime example. He would get my vote for COY.

True, we don't know it was him. But who else in the Valley would say they can grind us out. Would have to be a defensive grinding type of team, and also one that beat us. UNI and WSU are the only two that fit this. And it just sounds like Gregg. It could of very well been an assistant on WSU's staff though. Again, even if it was Gregg, I don't think it's a big deal. It's actually kind of fun to hear someone heat things up like that, and have a guy speak without a filter for once these days. Sports are entertainment, and Gregg is an entertaining guy.

It could be, but WSU doesn't run a grind it out offense (or they at least didn't on Saturday).
