i just noticed. The NCAA list requires a minimum of 2.5 3 pointers made per game. The ESPN list only requires 2.0 3 pointers made per game, so that list includes more players.

So, you can pick which one to use. IMO, any 3 pt shooting list that excludes McD as somebody that does not make enough 3s is incomplete.

Unfortunately for UNI, I think they get lost a little bit because their stats aren't as pretty because of the slower pace of play they use. They also have the problem of having 3 or 4 solid players where a team like Bradley has 2 outstanding players and not a whole lot else. There's a reason that UNI is 3rd and Bradley is tied for 7th. UNI has a much better "team".

If anything Sonnen would have been on the defensive team, but he doesn't rack up defensive "stats".

Since it is a conference award, I use the conference stats maintained by the conference. Here's a link to a leaders summary: http://www.mvc.org/mbb/stats/ind.pdf

As you can see, Sonnen is fourth in three point accuracy. He's made the most threes per game, albeit by a very slim .1 margin.

Gregg Marshall named Coach of the Year according to WSU beat reporter
“I’m gonna punch you in the ovary, that’s what I’m gonna do. A straight shot, right to the babymaker.”

Makes sense, but of the 3 ahead of him he has attempted 50 more than the next closest competitior. While two of them (Mason and Chatman) have attempted 100 less than Sonnen. Again I am not saying Sonnen deserves any consideration, but to say that people with a better percentage but have taken 100 less 3s than Sonnen are better is stupid.

I think this is overblown, especially this year. UNI averaged 66 points a game. Indiana State and Bradley averaged 67. UNI fans should just ignore these meaningless awards. I doubt the coaches or players put much stock in them. I do wonder when was the last time a team not playing on Thursday only had one name on the entire list?

I know it's been mentioned already but I'm still puzzled how the Defensive Team of the Year failed to get a player on the All-Defensive Team.

That's a new one there. Guess that was the team to spread the "Valley love".
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

Kind of like last year when the DPOY played on the worst defensive team in the conference (and one of the worst in the country)
