The shocker coaches were jawing with the ISU student section before entering the tunnel.

It looked bad, but anyone who knows Carmichael knows it wasn't intentional. He is as classy as they come and he does that kick on 75% of his rebonds.

ISU out played WSU for 39 minutes, but WSU won. Credit to them, hit some key shots and forced a turnover. That is how the game goes. It was an intense game, emotions are natural. No big deal.

I will deal with the first bold first. You mean similar to your coach jawing with the UNI student section during the game in the McLeod?

Secondly, I did not see Carmichael throw one high kick on a rebound all game yesterday. I did see his true colors he is not the saint all the ISUr fans think he is. I really can't believe I am cheering for WSU, but I actually am and it is all due to Jackie and the ridiculous ISUr fans.

They're in a whole other stratasphere, aren't they? It's pretty unbearable.

We appreciate the support. I'm hoping our team also remembers last year at the Lou, when their dirty Frenchie Wilkens was cheap shotting Stutz all over the place. I suppose that's also in the "It's Ok" handbook put out by Redbird fans. Their IQ level over the last year has dropped dramatically.

Maybe not premeditated but it certainly intentional.

Call me crazy... But seriously... Anyone remember ISU vs Creighton in 2009 I believe.... Creighton #2 ISU #3.... Everybody expected a close game... nope... ISU thumped Creighton like 72 to 49 or summtin like that.... CANT WAIT  :bounce: :buddies:

If I recall correctly, that game was played the day after CU was beating WSU by 20 something points in the second half when WSU charged back to take the lead only to be beat on a very questionable last second shot by CU.

CU was gassed and had no chance against Illinois St. Not to mention ISU also had about 2000 shockers fans rooting for them that day.

Wow, I did not anticipate the hate. I guess making your opponent in to a villain can be fun. Strange that up until that game most ISU fans spoke of highly WSU fans. That perception has unfortunately changed. I will still cheer for the Shockers in the NCAA.

As far as Carmichael, I guess if you followed him for four years, it is obvious that he is a really good guy, and a smart player. Not the kind of guy who throws a kick in a key moment of a game. If you've seen him only twice a year, I guess I can understand your perspective.

Have you been living under a rock the last few weeks. YOUR fans on YOUR fan board have consistently been in the camp of excusing JC's kick action as "he always kicks out on rebounds like that," instead of calling it like it is which is a cheap shot in the moment. I'm not, and the great majority of Shocker fans, suggesting JC is anything but a good person. The fact is he acted like a thug on that one play and almost got away with it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why do you think the incident got national news attention? Was it because JC kicks out on every rebound and Cotton just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? No...the national sports media saw it like every other human being on the planet did, except for bird fans of course, a cheap shot. If bird fans would have consistently made the comment "I think the action of Jackie in that one moment was inexcusable and appeared to be a cheap shot, but I hope people understand that is an anomaly of his overall character," Shocker fans would have been good with it.

If one of my Shocker players would have been in Jackie's shoes, I will 100% guarantee that player would have been BBQ'd for the action by most all of Shocker fans. Bird fans had an opportunity to step up and do the right thing...swing and a miss!!!

The reason it has changed for many Shocker fans is not so much the questionable calls at last years Arch Madness between IlSU and WSU, nor the actual kick in the chest by Jackie. It has to do with the vitriol displayed by IlSU fans against WSU coach Marshall, the team, and the subsequent display of poor manners by the IlSU crowd (throwing debris on the court) and IlSU Asst Coaches acccosting the WSU team/Coaches in Normal after the game.

I think WSU fans applaud good clean effort and love the loud big crowds, but they are not going to sit back and take cheap shots whether physically or verbally. I'm sure you can appreciate and respect that.
