Creighton vs WSU MVC TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP

For those who weren't at Arch Madness, there is a minor uproar regarding CBS cutting away to show the Indiana-Michigan game.

In several markets, CBS cut away from the game Sunday for the start of the Indiana-Michigan game. Heaven forbid viewers miss that 8-3 Indiana lead.

"This was our championship game, for goodness sake," MVC commissioner Doug Elgin said via a news release. "CBS needs to apologize."

Good luck getting an apology.

It certainly was the case in Illinois. A total outrage.

That was a fantastic MVC Tournament Final today, and the Jays were definitely lucky that Armstead missed that last shot, as WSU had all the momentum in the final minutes and would have been in good shape in OT. Either way though I am happy that this CU team finished its legacy by winning its second consecutive MVC Tourney championship. Best of luck to both teams in the NCAA tournament, will be cheering for the Shockers to represent the Valley well, as well as CU of course.

And if the Jays do head to the Big East, count me as another Jays fan who will miss the rivalry between these two programs (not just in basketball). Shocker fans please don't let a few of the rotten apples in our fan base spoil Bluejay Nation as a whole. I have a lot of respect for WSU and Shocker Nation and I hope if CU makes the move, that a yearly series can be continued between the two programs.

The players on the court today for both teams deserve a lot of credit. Much more respectful people then us fans have shown, including myself. But to OUR defense, we are fans, this is a rivalry, we are supposed to trash talk a little- thats part of the fun. And it's a great day to be a Jays fan as we have all the bragging rights.

Those were two of the TOUGHEST teams in the country. Everyone gives the Shockers credit for being tough, and deservedly so, their players are hard not to love, but IMO Creighton is every bit as tough, but for some reason only gets credit for being good shooters. If Creighton were just a bunch of shooters they would be a bad team, to make shots you have to do a lot of dirty work to get open for a good look, and we have finished the season as regular season champs and tournament champs because of our toughness, both mentally and physically. And for a team that supposedly "plays no defense" , I think our defense this week was equally as good as the number 1 defensive team in the conference- one of the best in the country. I'm proud to be a Jays fan.

We did almost give the game away at the end because we started playing the clock game. I think if we would of kept being aggressive we would have won a lot more easily than we did. But it is never easy to beat the shox when they are playing their hardest like they always do against us.

Now I can go back to rooting for both Creighton AND the shox. It feels so good to beat Wichita and send their fans home crying again, but once the Valley season is over, I'm a Creighton fan first and a Shocker fan second. I love their players and wish them the best in the NCAA unless they meet Creighton. Hopefully both of us go deep in the Tourney. These are two teams to be proud of, both on and off the court, as a fan of the MVC.

Well yea I use what i can to trash talk a bit, we all know Wichita fans do the same. In the big picture, I really think both programs respect each other, even both fan bases have respect for both programs. It's in the narrow picture of competition, that both fan bases trash talk each other. It's natural and instead of bitching about what each fan base says, we should just say our own thing and try to throw a punch back. When a boxer gets hit, he don't bitch about being hit, he hits back. I really don't mind y'all throwin comments at us, I'd much rather have that as opposed to bitching about the comments Jays fans post. Of course there are times I try to get under Wichita fan's skin, apparently I'm pretty dang good at it. But I really don't understand why so many of em act like little girls about it. Why not throw something back at us instead? Oh......I guess there isn't quite the weaponry.

Anyways, the truth is I root for any Valley school when they aren't playing us. And If I wasn't a Creighton fan, sadly, I would probably be a shocker fan. I will be as happy as anyone outside of Wichita if the shockers win in the Dance.

Before I head off for bed, I do wanna say sincere congrats to the Bluejays. The team shoots the rock and has some smart basketball players. They were the better team. They also appear to be a classy bunch and have really good heads on their shoulders. Same with Coach Mac. I saw the postgame interview and he seemed to have mixed emotions about the move to the Big East. I can't say I blame him. Definitely gonna miss the rivalry and emotions between the two schools. I'm sure a lot of Creighton fans aren't gonna be able to make the postseason trips to NYC compared to the amount that heads to the Lou. Gonna be totally different.

Aside from 2 jackturd fans posting in this thread, I do wish you best of luck in the NCAA's and beyond.

This post is a "gripe" post...just feel like complaining.

First of all, congrats to the Blue Jays for winning the tournament...and good luck to the Jays and to the Shockers in the NCAA Tournament!

Now...for my complaints..even though Colt had probably the worst shooting night of his career, my Aces hung in there and could have won the game against ISU had it not been for the terrible officiating during the last couple of minutes....the botched out-of-bounds call that gave the ball to the Sycamores when it clearly was off of Odom, the call against Mock, giving free-throws, and the last-second shot attempt which should have resulted in a foul being called, rather than a block. If the call against Mock was a foul, then so should have been the "block" that bent Ned's arm backwards and sent the ball away from the net! I know our shooting was horrendous on Friday, and we should never have been in such a precarious position, but those calls made by the refs during the last part of the game probably cost us a NIT bid!

2nd complaint...this aimed at CBS. The cutting away from the ending of the championship game was a total lack of respect for our conference! Hey, I am an IU fan as well as an Aces fan, and I could have missed the first couple of minutes of that Big 10 game. I understand this happened last year also? Our commissioner should have it written into the next contract that this doesn't happen again. It was unfair to the MVC and certainly unfair to the Creighton and Wichita ST fans!

Okay, I am done complaining....good luck to all teams still competing this year! And, look out for the Purple Aces next year....we have some young fighters - you saw some of them this year - who are stepping up to fill Colt's shoes!
