The MVFC wants no part of a huge footprint - NDSU made it in only because the eastern schools were promised they'd only have to go west at most 1 time per year....turns out they were lied too and that isn't the case. They won't let that happen again.

Richmond is already affiliate members of another football conference (the CAA) so they'll be fine there.

If it's a school with football it will be Murray State and either NDSU or YSU will be encouraged to find a new home for football.

So if Murray State comes aboard, they will tell the 2 time defending National champion to take a hike?

Exactly. Ain't happening to NDSU.

Anyhow congrats to your Jackrabbits or whatever on their basketball success. I am a big fan of Nate Wolters and Coach Nagy. Good luck tomorrow night getting back to the tournament.

Heard some rumblings that we are looking hard at Chicago...Loyola and IL Chicago I would assume. Thoughts?

I've read that elsewhere and for two reasons. First, to tap into the nation's third largest media market. Second and maybe more importantly, to have the MVC more visible in Chitown and surrounding burbs for recruiting. The Chicago area is one of the areas of the country rich in bball talent.

Who knows how this is going to turn out but I am slowly coming to the thought that maybe 12 teams is the way to go. If we go with 1, there will be many who aren't happy with that school. If we go with 3, maybe you still aren't happy with that one but maybe one of the other two is more palatable. Also another school of thought is Creighton can't be replaced but if three good programs are brought in the middle of the conference is strengthend so The Valley is still able to maintain some RPI credibility.

It would be good for the Valley. Having CU in the league for another year would give a better chance to have a replacement in place when CU leaves to avoid the schedule problems of 9 teams.

It would certainly be good for the Valley, but would blow for us Jays fans. This thing has been a roller coaster and while so long as the end result is that the Jays are in the Big East we will be happy, but many just want it done and over with. If they do slot us in for 2014, I hope that is very clear and we don't have to go through this for another year. At some point its just unfair.

LOL.

The BJ will never be in the Big East. They will be in some league bearing that name, but it is not what anybody thinks of the Big East today. You will be in the Big East sans Cinci, Louisville, Uconn, Pitt, 'Cuse, and Notre Dame. Basically you will be in a league with all the poo poo (minus Georgetown) teams from the original Big East plus a few new mid-majors. I Just wanted to clarify that for you. You don't owe me anything. You're welcome.

This....

A report in the New York Post Wednesday said Dayton, will join Xavier and Butler as additions to the seven next season and Creighton and Saint Louis would join in 2014. But Lenn Robbins who wrote the story then told our Doug Harris late Wednesday afternoon that he’d head Dayton would be the last team him.

He said the reference was to the 12th team in, not the 10th.
