Who do WSU Fans want in the Valley?

Postby Drakey » March 14th, 2013, 9:17 pm

Is there a preference among WSU fans as to who would be a good fit in the Valley? It seems to me that WSU is kind of geographically isolated, but probably the most important member of the conference. (including Creighton) Is there any programs in that direction that are worthy or have some type of potential?

Is that a trick question? WSU doesn't want a team with a lot of money or big boosters, since they enjoy bragging about being the best in that category. They don't want a team with fan support or a great home court advantage, same reason as above. No teams with NCAA success, see above. The town can not have a better country club, see above. The new school can't have better academic success than WSU, see above. And the crime rate in the school's town must be worse than Wichita, see above.

So the goal for Elgin is to find a team without money, who has very little fan support, never wins in the dance, no golf courses, terrible profs, and a lot of crime. There is one catch though, said team must improve WSU's RPI when they play each other.

Ready? Set. Go!

Love that a thread asking WSU fans about something is first answered by a CU fan.

Gotta love reading comprehension up in Omaha.

To answer the question, I would want a team that can benefit the conference the most and isn't just a space taker like say an Evansville.

The Dakotas would NOT be good. ORU is kinda meh to me.

Honestly, I don't have a clear answer now, but the options are pretty limited for what I'd personally want.
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

I think my reading comprehension is just fine. He asked who WSU fans want in the Valley, correct? That is an open question for anyone to answer, is it not? If he were to have asked "WSU fans, who would you want in the Valley?", that would have elicited responses that should have been answered specifically by WSU fans. But he didn't. He asked who WSU fans want in the valley. I simply drew my own conclusions from what I have read in previous threads to imply that there might be a catch 22 scenario since I feel as though WSU wants to be able to brag about being superior to everyone else and still complain that everyone else in the Valley is below them. Does that make sense or do you have a problem with reading comprehension?

I like the WSU fan taking a shot against Evansville again.....space taker? Unforunately, to be such a powerhouse, your team still got swept by the Aces.

Worry about your own program and keeping Marshall.

Shoxrox point wasn't that a CU fan answered, it was that a CU fan was FIRST to answer the thread. It shows a bit of obsession with the Shocks. Most Shocks fans are disappointed that CU will probably be leaving the Valley. A win over CU will typically be a good win and a loss won't be that bad to the selection committee.

As a Shocks fan, I would want a team with good financial backing. I would prefer a team without football so the focus would be on basketball. I would also want it to be a team that looks situated to be able to improve with a move to the Valley. I'm familiar enough with other teams to know who those would be.

Can the mods put in some sort of filter that when the word obsession or jealous is used the post can't publish? This would be a much better place without the message board dick measuring contest of who is jealous or obsessed with whom.

Creighton. . . Unfortunately it's not looking like that'll happen. Don't know who our best option to add will be, Murray St, Belmont? Murray looked great last year, Belmont looks good this year, will they be able to stay that way? There's no home run team out there to add to the Valley where i'm going to be completely excited about CU leaving and this team replacing them.
