This is why the NDSU/SDSU combo isn't exciting.

IDK what you guys are talking about. Whats not exciting about the opportunity to play your November tune-up opponent in the postseason?

I understand we didn't have AJ, but UND did not have their leading scorer when they played us the first time. This is a guy scoring 19.1 points per game. Obviously, they will be better than they were earlier in the year.

However, I think most fans aren't excited because we had NCAA hopes at the beginning of the season and even NIT hopes up until Sunday. Tough to be excited to play in this tournament.

North Dakota was missing Troy Huff, leading scorer and catalyst for the team the first time around. UND may not win tonight, but they will likely give a much better showing than the last time they played. At the end of the season, UND had been on a roll and had Weber down by 12 in the second half of the Big Sky semi-final game, losing by 2 in the end.

From today's Grand Forks Herald... http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/a ... up/Sports/

The teams met in mid-November with Northern Iowa taking a 72-47 win. That was UND’s third game of the season and North Dakota played without leading scorer Troy Huff, who suffered a broken jaw in the team’s season opener at Kansas State.

“That game got away from them,” Jacobson said. “They’re a much different team now.”

The Panthers, however, have improved as well.

Go Sioux!!

UNI was without their leading scorer, Anthony James, in the previous game as well.

Granted, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Huff was likely more missed than James, due to the depth of each of the two teams.

Well aj has 15 at half as uni it up 41 28.

Huff couldn't give less effort on the court if the ball in his hands on offense if he was in ok a full body cast.

He plays no defense and shows no effort on offense...also looks like a terrible passer as he had thrown about a half dozen passes well over guys heads

Always fun to see the unu/und connections though. Coach Jake is aund grad. UND head coach brian jones played at uni and assistant coach at und, gameli ahelegbe, is kwadzo's uncle I believe

I didn't get a chance to see the game, but caught the thread on Siouxsports.com. UND dug themselves too deep a hole in the first half and just couldn't get all the way back.

Huff didn't play well in the first half, but did in the second, ending with 22 points. The Sioux should be pretty good next year, as the core of the players are juniors.

Congrats to UNI and good luck in the next round.
