I've always felt that Drake-Creighton SHOULD have been the best rivalry in the MVC. My alma mater simply refused to step up. I'm hoping Drake is at a crossroads and takes the proper path going forward. Hire the right coach. I'm leaning toward Steve Forbes, former Tennessee assistant. I also like Bill Carmody and Nick Nurse.

Creighton's departure knocks the Valley down a notch. It's an opportunity for the rest of the schools to step up and fill that void.

UNI has certainly put a nice product on the floor for a number of years now. Would love to see a Drake-UNI rivalry expand and see both teams put the wood to Iowa and Iowa State in the Big 4 Classic!

We will have to do it without Colt, but he has done a lot to inspire the underclassmen and new recruits. As far as I am concerned, a rival that I would like to conquer is ISUB.

Well u went 10-9 in conf games and lose a guy who averaged almost 24 points a game in conf. I watched him single handily win in Wichita. Excuse me if I will take the wait and see approach. I'm sure u will take offense to this but u asked so I'm telling why I'm "dismissing" them.

Congrats on the win last night

Lest we not forget they lose Troy Taylor and Ned Cox as well. That is 3 of the top 4 scorers. The top 3 in a assists. 2 of the top 3 rebounders. Evansville will not finish out of Thursday next year, and you can book that.

I already hate Drake so if they put a competitive team on the floor it might make a decent rivalry.

See, you both are thinking wrong...UE is changing, improving, right before your eyes, but you cling to the old way of viewing them. Yes, Colt, Troy, Ned, and Lewis will be gone, but that doesn't mean there are huge voids there...instead, just opportunity for the new young guns, fast guards, and rebounders to fill in the stats and keep right on climbing in the Valley. I will be surprised to see us finish lower than we did this year, and we probably will close even higher. You've seen our freshmen, and our returning underclassmen; but you don't know yet about our recruits, including Blake Simmons......gonna be a real good year!

What exactly did the little general do to make you so confident? lol

He's running the program the right way (going to class, respect, etc); it's been a 180 since Clo was shown the door, and he's done a nice job on the recruiting trails so far. I think we've still got some great brand recognition with recruits; those two S16's are still very recent, and I think College GameDay is a pretty cool selling point :) ("Yes, Erin Andrews was in this building.")

It will take a few years, but we'll be back! We better!
