Future of CU/WSU series??

There's been so much going on and so many links that I've lost track of where I found this, but I believe Marshall is on record as saying WSU would start a home/home series with CU and play in Omaha next year to start the series.

It seems it would be good for both schools. What I recall from other posts about CU's OOC schedule is that CU was looking for one home game and that was about it for next year. If that's right, 3G seems to have volunteered to provide that.

That would be great! Hell, I wish WSU was coming to the BE with CU.

I can almost guarantee you this series will not continue. Certainly not next year. Our nonconference schedule is very difficult and our conference slate is going to be a bitch. Considering that we will lose some key personnel and possibly Doug too, I imagine any open nonconference dates will be filled with teams that we can develop players against.

Nah the series won't happen. Just not the way the "big boys" do things. Look how long it took for us to get Tulsa back on the schedule and that was a bigger rival than Creighton. Even if we do play it won't be the same. One game in November isn't near as important as a tight conference race which fuels rivalries. Unfortunately the rivalry is now dead....just like that.

I think if Creighton fans have their way we would continue the Nebraska series long before we would start a new series with Wichita State. Scheduling in future years will be one thing I will watch closely to see if any Valley teams are represented. My guess would be that Drake would be the most likely bed due to proximity. Even then I'm not sure if that would be home and home. I can't see Creighton getting series with the Big Ten and Big 12 schools yet, but as a fan of course that is my hope.

I could see the Jays giving Drake a 2 for 1 deal.

Other than Drake, I don't think Creighton plays any MVC schools in the near future. DU can bus in and cash a check and that's about all. No chance we're going to Terre Haute, Normal, or Cedar Falls ever again in my opinion.

For those CU fans who missed something and think CU is moving to a BCS conference, the C7 kicked the BCS schools out of their league. (BCS = FB). It almost seems like some CU fans are expecting CU to start scheduling as if they were Syracuse.

Can't play WSU - schedule is already too tough. Might play Drake. I see the BCS mentality has taken over. Might play a lower-ranking mid-major going through a coaching change, but "scheduling problems" prohibit a home-and-home with a top-50 type program.

If the game isn't scheduled, it's been offered. If McDermott turns it down, there may be some references to domestic poultry made.
