Biggest game for the MVC in more than three decades.

This one will be a grinder but we can do it.

I honestly think we have a very good shot in this game.

Ohio State is an excellent team, but I've been very confident so far for one simple reason: These teams aren't playing zone defense against us. Any team that is going to play man against us has me excited.

Not guaranteeing we're going to win by any means, but I think we have a great shot here. I would absolutely not think we had a very good shot if this was Syracuse in front of us.

Let's just not give them a chance to win it with the last shot.

I agree with your Syracuse comment.

When I look at their zone play and the size and length of their players, it makes me think that the Shocks would no shot against them.

DeShaun Thomas is a very generous 6'7". It will be interesting to see if Tekele Cotton draws him or Aaron Craft.

I would think that Cotton would be on Craft.

I really expect the Shockers to win this game. When WSU is hitting from the outside they are as good as anyone in the country. I 've watched a lot of games and there may be a few teams that have a better starting 5 but those teams can 't match the Shockers depth IMO.

One small worry I have is Armstead. Hes playing GREAT. But hes a very streaky player. Hopefully he doesn't shoot you out of this game (or the next) . The good thing is that Van Fleet backs him up and hes pretty capable.

I don't know that I would go so far as to EXPECT the Shox to win...but I'm hopeful it will be a close game, especially on the one day turn around.

The Shox bigs won't have the field day against OSU that they just had last night, but Arizona did shed some light on some defensive cracks in OSU's perimeter/help game last night.

I guess EXPECT is kind of a strong statement. Just meant WSU is definitely good enough to win this one. Basketball is a crazy game and anything can happen when its just one game.

I don't know if you guys noticed but the Valley has eliminated the A-10 from the Tourney, so who exactly is the better conference? Time to take down the big ten.

Kung Wu posted this on ShockerNet. I think it's very interesting:

http://statsheet.com/mcb/teams/compare? ... ohio-state

The above compares offensive and defensive stats between Pittsburgh and Ohio State. Essentially, while not compensating for a large difference in strength of schedule (#11 for tOSU, #71 for Pitt), the two teams are identical. Ohio State plays slightly faster, and Pitt is slightly better on offense.

It doesn't say much, and certainly doesn't mean we're going to win. But, again, I'm very happy with this matchup. We're playing a team that is essentially a slightly better version of a team we beat by 18 in the first round.

And Pitt had a week to prepare for us. Ohio State has one day, and will (hopefully) be taking us for granted.

I'm feeling good about this game.

WuShock's head has popped up behind Wilbon on PTI right now.
