Bradley Commit - 6-8 PF Mike Shaw (Illinois transfer)

Bradley has a potential transfer on campus today.

6-8, 215 Mike Shaw.

Bad news: Shaw played little his first two seasons at Illinois. Never could gain traction.

Good news: Shaw was a consensus top 75 recruit out of Chicago De La Salle. Geno Ford's brother, Dustin Ford, is an assistant at Illinois. BU assistant Chin Coleman was Shaw's AAU coach for the Mac Irvin Fire. I am sure if Bradley took Mike Shaw they would have done due diligence on his ability.

He has good size, is athletic and a nice skill set. I'm not sure what happened at Illinois. He also has offers from DePaul and Tennessee.

Bradley and Geno Ford got a verbal commitment from Mike Shaw tonight. Shaw chose BU over DePaul and Tennessee. This is getting a lot of play tonight in Chicago. Here is a blog from ESPN Chicago with some quotes:

Nice pick up for Ford! Kyle Wilson transferred from Illinois to WSU after being a top 100 that didn't play at Illinois.

Mike Shaw, who obtained his release from Illinois last week, verbally committed to Bradley on Tuesday. The 6-foot-8 Shaw, who played sparingly for Illinois his first two seasons, will have to sit out next season for the Braves and then have two years of eligibility beginning in the 2014-15 season.

This is great news for Bradley since they are in desparate need of a quality big man. I'm not too excited about Prosser, Pickett and Wells holding down the fort next year though.

Good pickup for the Braves! Illinois state needs to start filling some of their many holes. Indiana state got a 2013 commit today from a 6'6 wing that originally was committed to K-state.
