Wichita rei publicae rebus agendis Creighton simpliciter non potest quia MCMLXV

This board doesn't concern you anymore. Please to be taking your Latin and massive vocab to the catholic board and argue over intelligence there. You have no use for us dumb folk and we have no use for you, thanks.

Don't fret as the Valley will allow Loyola to recruit at a higher level and take advantage of Chicago as a potential venue for recruits. Loyola is in the midst of a significant commitment to athletics which bodes well for the future. Look for the Ramblers to improve at a faster rate than most anticipate.

A bit of advice from a fellow grad of a Jesuit institution:

You are now in a league with the likes of Missouri St., Wichita St., and Northern Iowa. If you want to be able to have them understand you, better cut out the Latin.

Probably better dumb down the vocabulary too.

Remember that high culture to those fellows consists of throwing profane hand signs and discussing things like moonshine and rasslin'. :D

Go home and tell yourself that your new league is better than a final four. I'm not a fan of Loyola for Men's basketball today, but I do know this: they had a sweet 16 inthe 80s. When will Creighton get their first?

You know what, you're right! I'm not FVV. Where the hell do I get off thinking I'm in a position to describe his desires?

And, an NCAA championship in basketball; something no other current MVC school can say. True, it was 50 years ago, but they've been to the top of the mountain before. I think they can become competitive in 4-5 years. It's not like there was another Creighton out there beating down the doors to join the MVC.

I don't know, we probably could have found another team that's incapable of getting out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.

I didn't want to set the bar too high for our former mates. They need to start with something they can achieve.

Loyola otoh, has won a national championship. I do believe that in time they can return to national prominence.

Well maybe except UE which has 5 NCAA championships. And before you go off spouting the DII crap remember that many of todays DI where DII then. And we played MANY DI teams during the time we were. (and beat them many times too)

So they won Division I championships? No offense and this thread is really getting off topic but those are Division II regardless of who else was in that division. That doesn't take away the difficultly of winning a championship at any level, heck an NAIA national championship is very hard to accomplish and also something to be proud of. However people can start the "DII crap" as you called it because it wasn't DI. That just a fact not an insult or me trying to say that isn't a big deal. Heck I'm proud of WSU's NIT championship in 2010-11 and it was a great accomplishment regardless of what others say or think about it.
