Welcome Loyola - Part 2

Postby MVCfans » April 19th, 2013, 6:25 am

Let's try this again.

The Missouri Valley Conference and Loyola University Chicago will conduct a press conference on Friday, April 19, at Gentile Arena on the Loyola campus at 11 a.m. CT to discuss the future of the MVC and Rambler athletics.

The press conference will be streamed live online and can be viewed in the player below and also on Valley Live. Video will be available on-demand after the completion of the event. Use the hashtag #MVCLoyola to submit your questions as part of the Q&A portion of the press conference.

Congratulations. Loyla is a fine fit. I think they will be very competitive in the coming years.

So, I write for a blog named Mid-Major Madness, and this was my perspective on the press conference. Please feel free to share your thoughts on there, on here, and vote in the poll (just because it's fun).

Nice piece. Loyola is actually losing two senior starters (Hicks and Averkamp) as well as starting junior PG, Cully Payne, who is either transferring or graduating and getting a job, depending on who you ask.

On the bright side, Averkamp and Payne both missed significant time toward the end of the season, and freshmen filled in admirably.

You nailed it on the music, lack of Bird, and pep rally cheering led by the AD. Other than that, it was perfect.

I can fix the article, but I was under the impression that Averkamp had another year of eligibility. Something I read said that he had another year of eligibility, but that could be entirely inaccurate.
