Tyler Smithpeters to SIU

SIU picked up a commitment from 6' 4 guard Tyler Smithpeters out of Harrisburg High School this morning.

I put 90 % of the problems in that game on Seton Academy. But as far as Smithpeters. I thought he was just a so-so player. Nothing great just versatile. I also think he was an instigator trying to do anything he could to get under peoples skins.

If he was a superstar he would be worth the problems. But I think he is a borderline MVC player. I like O'Brian much better.

We'll see how good he turns out--I'd say he'll red shirt. I'm not from Harrisburg but saw him play a couple of times before he played the Tournament games with a hairline fracture in his foot--and still scored what 18 points? I think he will eventually be a good MVC player. He can do a lot of things well (ie pass, shoot, rebound---needs to work on strength). It's typical of MVC fans whose recruit a player isn't to bad mouth him--I get it. I guess I just didn't see the extra-trash everyone says he talks---he is aggressive and ultra-competitive however--maybe that's what enemies of SIU see as Trash talking.
