Every Illinois State fan, student, community member, and even Jon Ekey will give you and unequivocal YES!!! Unless its a few that just like to argue for arguing sake. The 'Zones will fill you up for a good price and will be one of my first destinations next week when I make a visit from AZ, there and the new football stadium construction!

I get the Mangus Zone (Pepperoni, spinach, tomatoes, pesto mix, and cheeeese) while pretending to be healthy. They all are good though from the Buffer (buffalo chicken), the Reggie, to the Maui Wowie you can't really go wrong. They have a Shocker Zone (Steak, potato, jalapeño, cheddar, spicy parmesan crust with side of ranch) that I've never tried that you might want to go with for namesake  . What's a must go to in Wichita around Koch??

Final four ring, NIT championship ring, Valley championship ring....you take your pick

Getting to the Final four is not a championship. Sorry to burst your bubble. I could maybe understand the arrogance if you were a fan of North Carolina, or Duke or Kansas. Or just a school that had won ONE national championship. But you haven't, and you aren't the slightest bit more relevant on a national scale than anyone else in the league. So, I just don't get it.

So WSU isn't more relevant than Evansville, Indiana St., or anyone else in this league by going to the Final 4? I hope you don't really believe that.

WSU is on a HUGE upswing. They have gotten better every year under Marshall and should be what the rest of the Valley aspires to become. It will be interesting to see if he (Marshall) can continue to keep WSU on top.

I prefer the Ranch Buffer.

Yes, it's a good place to eat, Gumby's is also a good place to eat on the other side of campus. Or if you like Mexican food La Bamba is right by D.P. Dough. Although my personal favorite is Brewe-Ha's burger basket special that they have in the afternoon.

There are a lot more and are easy to spot due to the small size of Normal's Uptown area.

Nu Way is the first place I hit when I come back to Wichita. Few things I enjoy more in this world than listening to my grandfather tell stories about the old days while enjoying a pair of Nu Way burgers and a root beer.

But then I haven't lived there in a long time, so I'm sure others have different suggestions that are more college-ish.

This thread turned away from Ekey pretty early on. Ekey just happens to be the subtext of the argument between a handful of ISUr and WSU fans. If it wan't Ekey, it'd be something else, but since it's the off season…

What I learned in this thread is that Illinois St has apparently replaced Creighton as the school that WSU fans go batsh!t crazy about. Congrats Redbirds!

They're clearly our rivals.

Kind of like the rivalry of Creighton against Two-Straight-Tournament-Wins, in that it's a very one-sided rivalry.

Interestingly, you're the one that has yet to move on. Perhaps you don't like the fact that you are about to be replaced and just can't seem to let go.

Have fun rivaling up with DePaul.

As a longtime Redbird fan I'd like to put in my 2 cents worth.

WSU has a great BB tradition and I couldn't have been prouder of them in the NCAA tourney. Way to go Shockers!

Johnny Hill

Postby Snaggletooth » May 12th, 2013, 10:11 pm

WSU fans would like to thank Johnny Hill for all he did for WSU when was playing for ISUR. WSU couldn't have won without the escapades of Kung Fu Carmichael and Johnny Hill dribbling exhibition. Thanks Johnny - we will miss you.

Haha touché ...Hill could show a glimpse or two, but he definitely lost us some games with his dribbling.
