I think if he can stop disappearing like he had a tendancy to do through out the season he will have a monster year this upcoming year. But he'll also have to play with a big target on his back because everyone in the Valley will be trying to take him out of the game offensively and try to get him in foul trouble.

With the departure of White, Early is likely to see significant minutes at PF, but I expect he will be used as a stretch 4.

I'd expect Carter will eat White's minutes as Early's backup. Don't really see how White's departure affects Early at all. Early will start and have a lot more minutes, but I don't think they'll be coming from White's spot.

I can see some situations where Early is "effectively" playing SF and Wiggins, Wessel, or Carter is playing PF.

I think Early will be playing the 3 a decent amount, but I don't see him playing SF while Wessel at 6'5" is playing PF. I don't see Wiggins playing PF with Early at the 3, either. I think Wessel and Wiggins are both 2/3 players, not 3/4, like Early -- Early's just bigger and stronger than either of them. If Early's playing the 3, then he's on the court with the other 4/5 players (Carter/Morris/Watson/Coleby/Lufile). Or we're playing a 3 guard/2 forward setup ... which is where I think he gets most of his SF minutes. But yeah, he should be used as a stretch 4 regardless.

The preseason AA teams from CBS don't list Early in the top 20 players FWIW.

CBS also has Wichita State outside the Top 25 in their preseason rankings, behind such teams as Boise State, Virginia, and Harvard. And they had Wichita State as an 11 seed going into the tournament and as an "On the Fence" bubble team.

They have been pretty pessimistic about us, and luckily have been wrong consistently over the past season.
