To echo the sentiments above, I said many times that Jake White looks like he should be playing for UNI. This is not a knock on UNI or Jake White. Jake is 6-8, 240 and strong. He hustles and has some range (though the percentage doesn't show that). His playing style reminded me of Nate Buss. He was certainly a valuable contributor at WSU, and in a different system could have been a double digit guy in the Valley.

Agree. Would have loved to have had him at MSU. Think he would have fit in well here too.

UNI recruited White pretty hard if I remember correctly. He definitely seems like the kind of hybrid 4 that UNI has thrived with in recent years (the Kochs, Stout, Rank, better range than O'Rear). a gamer but not going to wow anyone athletically.

UNI went after him hard I'm recruiting. I think it came down to WSU and UNI.

he would have been a prefect fit in the UNI system, that isn't a knock on him or UNI. UNI had a system that works quite well, as does WSU...They are just different

I was one of the first Shocker fans to point out that Jake White was Northern Iowa material. His lack of overall speed would have been more easily masked in NIU's deliberate system. I also think he would have done well for BJ. Both schools recruit similar players with BJ usually adding an extra athlete or two in the mix.

Jake White isn't slow and could run circles around Slo-Mo Gibbs, but he isn't fast and that really stood out like a sore thumb on this year's blazing Shocker team. We prefer man-to-man defenses and Jake didn't quite have the reach, speed, or elevation to cause problems down low against bigger athletes. I think his effort to keep up on defense left his arms limp when he went to take an outside shot. How else could you explain a good shooter going 3 for a trillion from beyond the arc this year?

Ahhh.....some things will never change. Cold patting himself on his @ss and still infatuated with the Jays. Good luck to all the Valley teams! Will miss some of the great times playing some of you guys.

Ahhh, some things will never change. A CU fan taking a thread to cesspool land after a WSU fan makes a totally accurate post. The WSU fan even gave CU a compliment by mentioning that CU does recruit some athletes.

Cold's post was accurate, objective, and in no way trolling or demeaning. It included accurate comments on the styles of players and systems that various MVC schools employ.

And yet, even after CU basketball has ended it's association with the MVC, we have CU fans coming to MVCFans to trash WSU posters and derail threads. The irony is that the CU fan (who is no longer a fan of an MVC team) comes to an MVCFans site, to claim that a WSU poster is obsessed with CU.

This is like the pot calling the stainless steel saucepan (instead of the kettle) "black".

Just another 4-star recruit from Texas, who turned down offers from Texas, K-State, Washington, LaSalle, Providence, Wake Forest.

Fellas, I think we'll be OK without Jake.

Jake white tried NDSU but was told we didn't have scholarships available which begs the question why.....

Is there something missing that we don't know on jake white?

Or is ndsu coach just too stubborn with a cinch ncaa berth this year upcoming and disnt want to mess with chemistry ?

Jake isn't a world beater, but he is more than good enough to start for NDSU.
