Nobody cares. Go b**** at each other on AIM. This is a basketball board.

Well said by someone with all of 34 posts.

34 basketball related posts are better than a thousand posts wasted bickering back and forth with anonymous people on an internet message board. It's bad for the board and the people who actually want to discuss basketball.

Drake has a 6'7 freshman named Blake Danielak coming in to compete for pt at the 3 spot. He originally committed to Texas Tech but changed his mind when Gillespie was fired.

Coach G also signed Trevor Berkeley, a 6'6 juco from Texas who's supposed to be something of a defensive specialist for us.

Besides that, Jordan Daniels, a point guard transfer from Boston College will become eligible at semester.

How so?

Don't get mad at me just because members of your own fanbase can act like fools and then turn around and blame me for it. Maybe you should concentrate on the problem.
Honestly, leave it to wufan to talk. He's one that is worthy of being listened to, respected and engaged with unlike rih04d and yourself. So it is of my opinion that you and rih04d act like fools and blame us for it instead of acting like stand-up individuals like wufan. You should aspire to be more like wufan.

Blame yourself as well then. In this post, you aren't talking about basketball either.

And the obsession with me continues.

Here is an article from the local paper. http://wcfcourier.com/sports/college/un ... 963f4.html

Was Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin his senior year. Seems to have good height, but I don't really know much about him.

Apologies as I looked and couldn't find a thread on it! Thanks DUBulldog!

6'7" Emmanuel Addo - 1yr guy who only averaged 5pts 2rbs as a junior but averaged 10pts 4rbs as a soph. His size and experience alone will help us but I have a feeling he is going to contribute.
6'5" Ronito Mvouika - juco who averaged 19pts 8rbs 3ast per game...was a VA Tech commit out of prep school but hurt his back. Stat stuffer wing like Mallett but a better shooter...made 54 treys as a soph and shot 39% from three.
6'3" Austin Ruder - high school shooting guard and on the Rivals list of top 10 deep shooters in the country. Averaged 22pts 6rbs 4ast per game and is just a tough kid...high release point, quick shot and plays hard. We needed shooters and we got a good one.
6' Devon Thomas - prep school lefty point guard that is ultra quick and very athletic. Played on a very good prep school team with a top 10 2014 recruit and Danny Ainge's son. Averaged 14pts 4rbs 6ast. Have heard some talk that he will start from day 1.
6'10" Tyler McCollough - high school center who is already around 250lbs. Played on a very good high school team in Arkansas that was 7A state runner up. Watched him play a few times and was impressed with his hands and how well he moved...needs some work on his offensive game but most frosh bigs who come to the Valley do.

Great job of summarizing this. I really like this group. Add these guys to what we have coming back and there is a lot to look forward to for Bears fans next year. Still wish we would add an experienced big though. But Kirk really came on in conference play. If he continues to improve and Tyler comes in ready to contribute - hopefully we will be okay in the post even without an addition.

Did you just overlook Addo; he's more like 6'8 230 at this point , averaged about 10 ppg as a sophmore before falling out of favor for some odd reason with his coach at NCU. More than likely will start in the middle unless McCullough is really impressive from the get go. Doubt there were too many juco bigs available late more ready to step in immediately than Emmanuel will be. Not a program maker, but a solid veteran versatile front court player. We now have McCullough 6'10, 250, Marshall 6'10 and reportedly about 235, Addo, Kirk and Thurman at the 4/5 spots. That looks to be a fair advancement over last year in experience, size and versatility.

Good point about the Bears. I still see them as a year away, but anything after the top 2 is wide open as far as predictions.

I'm not necessarily sold on Lusk yet, so if I have any doubts heading into year 3 , it's more about that than talent. Lusk has done a good job of turning the roster over and recruiting players who fit his system. Not sure I like his system, but the players do appear to have the types of skills and athleticism to play within it. I know you see our frontline as still a bit shy, and it might be, but perceptions can be funny sometimes. You're pretty comfortable with Coleby and Lutfile, yet when you look at what Coleby did at Louisiana as a junior, his stats are pretty identical to Addo's at NCU as a soph. Coleby is a bit bigger and looks to be a better defender, but rebounding stats are similar and they both averaged 9-10 ppg . Lufile didn't show much last year, but has decent size and juco experience, while McCullough is obviiously an unproven freshman, but at least a true post presence that we didn't have last year.

WSU is the clear favorite, but not w/o questions along the frontline other than Early, but as far as the rest of the league, I love our size, depth, scoring ability, and athleticism at 1-3. Frankly I feel if Lusk can coach we will be very difficult to match up with on the perimeter, and there really aren't any superior frontcourts established at this time. 2-4 is well within our reach.

Doesn't look like he had any other scholarship offers. But his performance in the state championship tournament was impressive.

I really hope Bradley does get back.

An ESPN blogger suggests there were 2 BCS offers, though it's not clear and the PJ Star doesn't echo it. Either way, sounds like a good one and it's a position we've been lacking.

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/high-sc ... to-bradley
Taylor, a 6-foot-9 power forward, chose the Braves over Kansas State and Wake Forest, among others. He is ranked the No. 63 power forward in the Class of 2013 by ESPN.

Taylor averaged 8.5 points while helping Morgan Park to an Illinois Class 3A state title last season. He had 11 points and 12 rebounds in the Mustangs’ state championship win.

“We think Xzavier is only going to get better,” Mac Irvin Fire coach Mike Irvin said. “He was a big important piece on that state championship run for Morgan Park. He had to match up with some of the city and state’s best big men. We think him going to Bradley definitely is a good sign for them."
