Finalized...

Paul Jesperson ‏@pjuva2
Both schools had great opportunities in a handful of areas but... I had to go with UNI!

This is a GREAT grab.

In 2014 our back court is going to be very scary

Deon Mitchell - SR
Paul Jeserpsen - JR
Wes Washpun - JR
Matt Bohannon - JR

Plus the guys we will have coming in this year.

Along with post players like Tuttle, Koch, and Carlson......

Exciting times to be a Panther fan right now.

Throw in Jeremy Morgan (6'6" athletic wing, Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year) and sharpshooting Robert Knar and we are in great shape in the back court for the next 4+ years. If Bennett Koch and Ted Friedman are good compliments to Tuttle, we will be scary...

Frankly, I'm surprised this signing has not gotten more chatter on here. This is a huge get for UNI. Paul was Wisc Mr Basketball and a top 100 guy coming out of high school, who had dozens of BCS offers. He could have gone almost anyplace he wanted.

Two more years of all-MVC caliber guys like Mitchell and Tuttle to go along with some impressive BCS transfers and talented freshman. Coach Jake and staff have really set us up to continue to be very good for a long time.

ACC (NIT) transfer
25.7 minutes
4.7 points
2.2 rebounds
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... -jesperson

Plenty of things about JP for UNI fans to get excited about.
Also plenty of things for non-UNI fans to think, "ho-hum."

He is a nice pickup, not sure if call Mitchell and all-valley player. UNI kinda looks like the Bears in the post anyone on the horizon to play the 5 spot? I understand you still have Tuttle just wondering who is next.

I said all-MVC "caliber" guys. Mitchell will just be entering his Jr year next season. Both Deon and Seth are not even upperclassmen yet and they have already proven quite a bit.

UNI has 3 bigs coming in this year's class, and I personally expect Ted Friedman (6'8) to contribute immediately. He is more of a true back to the basket traditional post.

He started every game for a very good team in the ACC as a true soph. That's not ho-hum.

Now he has an entire redshirt year to get better and be ready to play in the Valley which is a lesser conference competitively.

Why did he leave a very good ACC team which he started every game for?

Probably because its a very long off-season and he won't play a minute for another 18 months. I'm curious what the rest of the Valley will have in 2013-14 right now.

Congrats to UNI on some of the great recent signings. I really do think they will be in great shape in two years after a good season coming up.
