Its kind off hard to say that Morris will be amazing coming from Oklahoma. They don't have a top 100 recruit from the state on ESPN. The top guy is Clark whose going to OKST and he has a rating of 85. Morris is fourth out of only 5 players listed on the state rankings of OK on ESPN.

There are 10 D-I players from Oklahoma this year. Shaq was POY and State Tourney MVP on the championship team. He may or may not have a memorable career.

I don't remember anyone on here saying he'll be amazing. I think he is identical in size and body type to Glen Davis and seems to have relatively similar athleticism, but that certainly doesn't mean he's going to put up the gaudy numbers Davis did.

I do think it's funny that you have no problem talking up McIntosh while then going out of your way to dismiss Morris, all the while referring to ESPN ratings that have Morris rated higher at the same position. But you're welcome to be laughably biased if you so choose ;)

But hey, let's derail yet another thread into being all about a WSU player ...

To be fair the words used by a WSU poster about Morris were "fantastic" & "almost unstoppable " which I guess is a little different than "amazing", but would seem very much in that spirit. Again who knows how good he'll be, but I'm wondering what he averaged as far as ppg and rbs in HS. Might be a realistic measure of how much to expect in a year or 2; but sometimes not, as Kids do sometimes keep developing at the pace of the competition they are surrounded by and make quatum leaps once they get to college. That can especially be true of big guys who are very athletic. Should be interesting to see if Lutfile/Morris/Coleby can repace the fire Hall played with.

Perhaps I'm a little biased, but I think Jordan Swopshire is going to make quite the impact. Everyone talks about Mcintosh and all the Wichita kids but Swopshire was a McDonald’s all-American nominee when he was in high school. He also was named to the 16-under USA Developmental team that played in Italy.

Speaking of things being funny, I like how you disregarded 2livewu's entire post because he was "taking things out of context," and then you take the words "fantastic" and "almost unstoppable" out of phrases that IN context were entirely regarding his early workout performance or how he fares strictly against man defense from the post.

High school stats: 13.0 points and 5.6 rebounds as a junior, "nearly" 18 points and nine rebounds as a senior, leading his team to the state championship. The most important thing regarding Shaq is that he's likely going to be #3 on WSU's depth chart at either the 4 or 5 and (IMO) averaging less than 10 minutes a game.

I expect Carter to be Hall's real replacement. He should have an identical role to what Hall had in 2011-2012. If he can fill that backup 4 role with anything close to Hall's 22 minutes a game, 8.4 ppg, and 5 rpg, we're in good shape.

You have to talk up your own guys on here ;)

Swopshire is going to be very good. I think he's probably the most talented freshman recruit in the Valley. I think it's either him or McIntosh for freshman of the year ... I'm only leaning towards McIntosh because their team is so wide open for a scorer to take over.

UNI's is probably 6'6 SG/SF Jeremy Morgan from Iowa City.

His HS team went 52-0 his JR and SR years in class 4A (the largest schools in Iowa)

#1 ranked player in the state of Iowa

organ earned first-team all-state honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association as both a junior and as a senior. Morgan averaged 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per game as a senior. Morgan averaged 14.8 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range as a junior. He earned first-team all-state honors and was a first-team all-conference pick as a junior. He was selected to the state all-tournament team in 2012. As a sophomore, he helped his squad to a fourth-place finish in the state tournament and earned first-team all-conference honors. Morgan has been a three-year varsity player at Iowa City West HS.

His HS stats don't look that impressive, but he was on the court with 4 or 5 other D1 players - one of them is also a UNI commit for next years class (a PG that dropped 63 in an AAU game a month ago) - and Jeremy took on the laid back role of it. His AAU numbers were great and his tape looks very good. He looks effortless on the court. He committed real early in the AAU process and his AAU coach (a notoriously big Hawkeye fan) was angry after he did so and went public with a quote about how he wished Jeremy would have held out because he would have had B10 offers.

We'll see how he plays out, but high hopes for him.

Uhmm, interesting. I guess I supposed that given the majority of the Valley and most of college basketball plays man defense, that was a significant statement. "Almost Unstoppable". And that "fantastic" against the best roster in the Valley was also noteworthy. Like I said, not quite "amazing", but a memorable quote.
