And that "fantastic" against the best roster in the Valley was also noteworthy. Like I said, not quite "amazing", but a memorable quote.

Zone defense seemed like the favorite defense of most Valley teams against WSU last season. Unquestionably the most effective.

Everyone talks about Mcintosh and all the Wichita kids but Swopshire was a McDonald’s all-American nominee when he was in high school. He also was named to the 16-under USA Developmental team that played in Italy.

I think Swopshire could be really good. That said, there are over a thousand McDonalds AA nominees. I know he didn't play as a senior and he kinda fell off the map as an upperclassmen. Still lots of talent there.

This is an interesting page that I had never seen before: http://247sports.com/Season/2013-Basket ... erence=MVC

The "rankings" aspect is as always arguable, because every site does it differently. But it gives a good way of checking the recruits of every school in the conferences, and finding info on players quickly.

Funny that you posted this! I was just about to post regarding Future 150 being a 'distant 4th' to rivals, scout and espn. 24/7 is making a huge push to move from 'distant 4th' to a major player in the recruiting game. They started out with a very slick layout, and now they're putting a lot of effort into their rankings and ratings. I'm really hoping they cement themselves in the scene, because their website is incredibly user-friendly.

Yes, this site is so good, they don't even have our best recruit listed. They are obviously well informed.

Jordan Swopshire - Was Rivals Top 150 a year ago and top rated in MO but dropped out of the rankings and went to prep school in MD. Is ESPN #38 SF. Offer from VCU.
Xzavier Taylor - Was injured at start of last season and came off the bench most of the season but had big games in state tournament, putting up double double in IL 3A title game. Is 247Sports #34 center. Offer from Kansas State.
Stefan Zecevic - Playing on Serbian national team. Averaged sick numbers (32 ppg, 10 rpg, 8 apg) in high school against questionable competition, but isn't putting up much on the Serbian team now. Decommit from UAB.
Mike Shaw - Transfer from Illinois, where he played sparingly. Rivals #59 overall and #9 PF in Class of 2011. Offer from Tennessee.

There are also a couple JUCO forwards that weren't rated so highly, although they were on DI rosters (Air Force and CMU, although the latter was as a preferred walkon).

Ford's best 2013 recruit is Shaw, but if you're not counting transfers then it's Swop.

His HS team went 52-0 his JR and SR years in class 4A (the largest schools in Iowa)

#1 ranked player in the state of Iowa

organ earned first-team all-state honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association as both a junior and as a senior. Morgan averaged 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per game as a senior. Morgan averaged 14.8 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range as a junior. He earned first-team all-state honors and was a first-team all-conference pick as a junior. He was selected to the state all-tournament team in 2012. As a sophomore, he helped his squad to a fourth-place finish in the state tournament and earned first-team all-conference honors. Morgan has been a three-year varsity player at Iowa City West HS.

What? Where does it say he is the #1 player in Iowa. On ESPN he is 5th out of 8 players listed with a rating of 65. He's not even the best player from Iowa UNI recruited. Ted Freidman is 3rd with a 67 rating. Peter Jok from Iowa City headed to Iowa is the #1 ranked player from Iowa, and is the Mr. Basketball from Iowa sooooooo how is Morgan #1??????

Peter Jok was Iowa Mr Basketball and Jeremy Morgan was the Iowa Gatorade Player of the year. Both can lay claim to Iowa's "best player." Morgan was the best player on the Iowa City West team that went undefeated for two straight seasons in Iowa's largest class, while Jok's team failed to even make the state tournament.

And Morgan is most certainly UNI's best recruit. If you choose rely on a ridiculous and silly ESPN rating score to tell you otherwise then more power to you, but you will still be wrong.
