I believe Kyle Korver was the last guy taken. And Osiris Eldridge has been the closest not to get drafted

Patrick O'Bryant (Bradley) was 9th overall in 2006 as a sophomore.

Korver (Creighton) went in the second round in 2003.

Rico Hill (ISU Red) went in the second round in 1999.

Anthony Parker (Bradley) went in the first round in 1997.

Those are the last 4 I can think of. Then if you go back to the 1980s, Bradley and Wichita had a bunch of first rounders.

I like that! How does one quantify (closest) when it is a null value (didn't get drafted)?

Gregory Making some noise. Having to turn down workouts for some teams, not enought time.

Always thought he had a shot. Great individual!

Good luck to him. I always thought he was very talented. He was always the Creighton player I would have most liked to have at WSU.

However, that article is ridiculous. This is about what I got out of it: "Hey, remember that movie the Blind Side? Oher had a really sucky life. Well, Echenique had a great life, his dad is a basketball legend, his parents loved him, he got sent to an expensive prep school, and didn't really have to worry about anything other than not knowing anyone in a new country. So .... yeah, they're nothing alike. But they both have big butts."

I have no clue what the paragraphs about Oher had to do with G.E., other than G.E. having a good coach at his prep school that invited him over on the weekends. Pretty huge distance from Oher's story, though.

Anything by Slam can be dismissed if it is about the jays.

My mistake thanks for clearing up

A long time ago, but Joe Ragland, Garrett Stutz, and Toure Murry were the last closest not to get drafted! :buddies:

There are probably only two competitions an IlSU fan can win in comparison with WSU ... last team to have a player drafted and last to have a player kick someone in the chest.

Cling onto the former, because you won't have it much longer ;)

And our last graduate who was drafted was 4th overall.

Anybody know the Valley team with the longest NCAA drought? How come they aren't getting to the tourney with the superior and vast NBA talent?
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

The last Redbird drafted won back-to-back MVC regular season and tournament championships.
