I'm all for giving guys a second chance but lying to the NCAA to cover up for a coach is about as serious as it gets in college sports.

How about paying players? Is that more serious?

What about covering up transcripts?

Lying about a MURDER by a former player?

How about calling players during the off period?

Get a grip.

Gambling on sports ... physically abusing players ...

There's a pretty huge line of things in terms of "as serious as it gets," and lying to the NCAA is a long ways down that list. Not good, but hardly as bad as IlSU fans would obviously want to make it sound.
