That is dominence. You put even a mediocre supporting cast around a player like that and its tough to see how ISUr doesn't finish better 6th. I lay that totally at Muller's feet. But 1st year head coach's usually struggle. Muller deserves a few years to work through those mistakes and prove himself. I think he will.
Saying that Muller contributed to IlSU's weak season doesn't say he won't be a good head coach. Marshall's a great coach, but even coming into the Valley with years behind him as a head coach he had a lot of adjustments to make, and he's become a much better coach since he's been in the Valley.
If Muller's capable of being a solid coach, he'll steadily improve. Probably not in wins next season, but in other ways. I would think not playing on Thursday would be a great coaching job this year.
