Any relation to BUGRAD96 on PJS, aka xb7/tornado/user1/admin? That user posted the exact same thing on the PJ Star board, as well as commented on it on 'The Mecca' and some insane blog. Coincidence? How are things in 'New York'?

Nope, just a Bradley fan that wanted to share this with other MVC fans who may not follow Bradley. But as for this Geno Ford case being "The Mecca," that's certainly not the case.

I'm interested in what's going to happen in the appeal when the case is heard by a judge outside of Ohio. I have some doubts about that buyout being enforceable. It creates a state of indentured servitude, which is not legal.

Lawsuit Against Bradley Dismissed By Kent State

I like that Bradley just beat Kent State on a recruit, too.

I have a hard time buying any indentured servitude argument when these guys make as much as they do and clearly agree to the terms of the contract. If the buyout is too big, don't sign the contract. In the case of indentured servitude, it's usually someone having to sign the agreement through abject poverty. A rich guy wanting to get more rich doesn't fit the bill.

He knew what he agreed to. Nothing forced him into it but greed.

Just saw this online.

KENT, Ohio -- An Ohio appeals court has upheld a $1.2 million judgment against former Kent State men's basketball coach Geno Ford over his 2011 departure to become coach at Bradley.

The ruling issued earlier this week sided with Kent State after it sued its former coach over breach of contract. The school's lawsuit claimed Ford didn't have permission to end his Kent State contract that was scheduled to expire this year.
