Looks like he might be around for a while

Let's hope he sticks by that statement!

I think according to other MVC fans, Marshall should've left about 15 times by now over the past 3 years. I don't think this will change their opinion any.

The only thing I dont like about him is losing to him over and over and over. Hope he stays! I think he will and CU will regret leaving from a basketball perspective that is!

I don't like him, but he has done great things for the school and conference. He has shown that he's very loyal and committed to a program. And I respect him for that :+1:

In that presentation, he sounded like most successful, high-level CEO's. The same things he brings to a basketball court will work in any business.

Apparently UCLA offered him (through his agents) $2.6 mill a year and a 6-year contract.

I don't blame other MVC fans for disliking him. He's outspoken, passionate, and doesn't have much of a filter on saying what he's thinking.

Marshall took a lot of heat for his comment about wanting to get to a neutral court after the 2012 MVC tourney. In 2011, it took over 3 seconds to run 1.9 seconds off the clock, which allowed a late CU FG to beat the Shox. In 2012, it seemed that the Shox were fouling at a rate bout 10 times their normal rate for the season in the last moments of their last game in St. Louis.

Marshall thought his plyers had been jobbed 2 years in a row in St. Louis, and wasn't afraid to say what he was feeling. To non-WSU fans - he's a whiner. To WSU fans he's the guy who will never worry about public opinion when he's saying things that support his players.

Gregg Marshall couldn't give an ounce - couldn't give a milligram - of crap about what the posters here or the fans of other schools think about him. All he cares about is what his players think. Shocker fans really don't care if other fans in the Valley hate, despise, trash, or insult him.

I have a lot of respect for Geno Ford, Ben Jacobsen, and Barry Hinson. All of those guys wish they could be Gregg Marshall - even if it meant nobody outside of their school liked them.

I don't think there are many coaches who wouldn't say the same thing. I believe Marshall a lot more when he says it considering the jobs he's already turned down, but still. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted a new challenge one day. Hopefully that day isn't for a long time, though, if ever.

Personally, I love the reaction he generates from fans of other teams. He creates rivalries.

I think they would like to have WSU's success but saying they wish they could be Gregg Marshall is a stretch.

He is obviously a fine coach and recruiter. His whining over the steak shot made me laugh.

I would put the leagues coaches into four tiers.

Top Tier-
Marshall
Jacobson

Tier II-
Ford
Hinson
Simmons

Tier III-
Lusk
Lansing (It gets ugly after Odum is gone)
Moser

Tier Too soon to tell-
Giacolletti
Muller (I think he ends up #10 by a large margin, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt right now...)
