If he's this bad now, imagine how bad he's going to be if Bradley actually wins more games than it loses, or avoids Thursday night rendezvouses.

I want to like Bradley too, but this kid hurts my head. He's obviously not all there if he is indeed 29 and his posts are brutally painful to read.

Just for the sake of arguement, I think you could make a case that Geno is about the second best coach in this league. I know people like Jacobson and Marty but I think Geno is right there. Now it's a small sample size,I know, but he's got this program going in the right direction.

So what I'm saying is, who are the best coaches in this league after Marshall? I think this could be a fun discussion

See pages 1 and 2 of this thread.

No way Ford is better than Jacobson based on resume.

I hope turning down the UCLA job is a matter of character, but it also makes logical business sense.

Cost of living is significantly higher in LA than Wichita. $2.6 million in LA is about equivalent to $1.8 million in Wichita. He'll probably make that next year. So, really, he didn't turn down much in the way of money.

Job security wise, UCLA is a joke. No one is going to keep a job at UCLA without multiple national championships.

I've never been worried about the little jobs. WSU will be able to pay Marshall up to maybe $2.5 million before we can't compete anymore. With cost of living adjustments to most places he'd look to go to, that makes us competitive to a bit over $3 million. At that point, there are no more than 10 jobs we'd have to be truly worried about -- Duke, UNC, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State, Florida, Ohio State. Most of those guys aren't going anywhere soon unless the NBA talks them into moving.

Now this is probably the nightmare scenario for most WSU fans: What if Self went to take on an NBA job and Kansas came offering Marshall $3-4 million a year? I actually could see that as being the most likely immediate threat to keeping him. I can't imagine Marshall actually taking that job -- but if he did, Wichita would melt down. And it would make complete sense for Kansas -- if I were them, I'd want Marshall or Smart, and getting Marshall would have the dual impact of seriously hurting a very strong in-state team.

Or would Marshall be crazy enough to think he could turn around the Charlotte Bobcats? Can't see that happening, either, but it's a possibility.

I'm not sure if it should, but Texas scares me a bit. I think Barnes is gone after this season, unless they have a lot of success, which is very unlikely.

I could definitely see it on a purely financial perspective. Texas can easily out-bid us, and no state income tax would be a nice additional bonus. Cost of living is almost identical, as well.

But would Marshall ever want to coach somewhere that football is clearly king, and he'd be begging for interest and support? They average over 5k empty seats a game.

It's possible. I'm mostly scared of traditional basketball powers, though. Or the NBA.

His posts aren't anymore painful to read than those of a certain WSU poster IMO. Or those of a certain Bear fan. Maybe just take him as a type of comedy relief. That's the way I view the other 2.

No need to get down on an entire fanbase or program because of one guy.

Agreed. Every fan base has at least one. The good teams usually have several.

I can't even compare him to the Bear fan you're referencing. He's over the top, but at least you can understand him. And he doesn't post 100 times a day like this BU fan. I'm not judging an entire fanbase, but I think he accounts for over half of the BU posts on this board it it's rather irritating. He can be as stupid as he wants to be, I just wish there weren't so many posts from this one poster all the damn time. And not to be outdone, he has an ISU counterpart who's right up there with him.

You prolly get so many GREAT debates on here because you are so classy!

I apologize for the grammar. I'm really not trying to offend anyone. Ok, some of what I say is set out to annoy some posters but not the majority.

Still doesn't make Marshall the best coach in the country. Or your you know what any bigger or make it so you can make a jump shot.

Found a solution. Didn't realize there was an ignore function on here. I can like BU again!
