I was more pointing out that MSU returns (at least) 3 quality, experienced players, while UNI has just the 2.

Outside of Tuttle's size, I'd take the skill set of all 3 MSU players over UNI's, but it is close. I think Deon is going to have a great year and I very well might put him at the top of this list at the end of the year, but I still think Marshall has more upside. And I believe MSU has more quality depth, especially in size, than UNI.

I could be wrong.

What I am not wrong about is that UNI's "2" don't outweigh MSU's "3".

Actually Pickens wouldn't be one of our top 3 returnees as Christian Kirk is primed to have a very solid junior season now that he can matchup with other teams pfs. In fact Pickens , Scheer, and sophmores Thurman/Williams who all have starting experience will probably be coming off the bench this year along with 6'11 freshman post McCullough, with 6'6 soph Simpson and frosh guards Ruder and Thomas vying to dislodge someone. It's nice adding a pair of experienced guys like Addo and Gulley to an otherwise young team, and 6'6 juco guard Mvouika will be a big key to how good we may or may not be.

What I don't like about MSU is that they were 7-11 in the MVC last year, which is MILES ahead of where they were in the non-con. What I like about UNI is that they were 11-7 in the MVC and actually played quality teams in the non-con…plus they ACTUALLY beat some of the D-I teams they faced.

The gap is too wide for MSU to bridge next year, and I think that UNI had an artificial dip last year and they will be better this year and for many to come.

No argument from me, I always think Jacobsen does a great job finding guys who fit his system and getting the rest of the teams in the Valley to play at the pace he wants. I'm not one of those who sees WSU as head and shoulders above the other top teams in the Valley and think both ISUb and UNI will have a chance to be very good and perhaps win the league. After that, I think several teams could be pretty good, but have more unprovens whether that be coaching[ MSU], talent, or inexperience, that will need to be overcome before you'd pick them over the top 3.

I agree. Marshall and WSU have not proven a thing over the years. This one is Indiana State's or UNI's to win. Missouri State is probably chomping at the bit too because, well, they went 7-11 in the Valley last year and played "close" with WSU in the Valley Tournament.

Your insecurity about even having another team mentioned as a possibility is pretty funny. Anytime you see someone have to exaggerate or create statements and then try to attribute them as what was said in the previous post, you can assume an objective discussion is a foregone conclusion. I'm picking WSU to win, I just think they have a lot off new parts to fit in and that UNI and ISUb are proven quality clubs that have a solid chance to challenge; sorry that is threatening to your world view.

Anyone that picks ISU to win the conference I completely understand and actually I'm surprised they aren't getting more love. If Stockton doesn't walk out of bounds and WSU doesn't get past Gonzaga, I wonder if ISU wouldn't be favored to win the league?

Odum and Arop are VERY good. Indiana State has experienced depth at every position. They will be tough to beat.

I agree. Everyone on I.S.U.B back from a 75 R.P. I. Will be very difficult to compete with. Shocks will just have to want it more.
