This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. You don't get respect from going to 1 Final Four. You earn respect from building a PROGRAM OVER TIME. Creighton has done that, hence their invite to the "big boy table". WSU might be doing that, we'll see. Right now, you're still at the "kids table" whether you realize it or not.

Ask George Mason how much "respect" they get from their Final Four run. At least they still got that fancy banner.

Shouldn't you change your name to JaysFinal32?

It isn't just about the Final Four, it is about postseason success in general. Creighton may have danced 18 or so odd times, but they've still never won two games in a row in the tournament. Wichita State has done that and more (and not only once or under one coach, but several times in several different decades). While they've never been consistently good over a long period of time they've shown an ability to be great. Creighton simply hasn't, even though they've shown that in the Valley they could consistently win the tournament or get an at-large bid.

Creighton's invite to the "big boys table" was predominantly based around several factors, and those factors don't come down to a difference of program building between the two schools:

1. Being a Catholic private school
2. The construction of a large arena by the city (Intrust was a mistake for basketball in that it should have been built much bigger)
3. Filling that arena with low ticket prices and an untapped basketball market, with little power conference competition

While Creighton still needed to be good to get invited, it is incorrect to say that the difference between Creighton switching conferences and Wichita State staying in the MVC is that Creighton has a better program. The main differences were religion, being a private school, and having a perfect environment to boast large crowd numbers. None of that comes down to a difference in the basketball programs.

1. How would you know?

2. What about 2 Final Fours?

3. What about a Sweet 16?

4. Either you're an idiot or you're lying to yourself, if you don't think Creighton would trade their "program building" for George Mason's fancy banner. The entire point of building the program, sustaining success, getting into a better conference is predicated on increasing your chances (more bids, better seeding) of collecting "fancy banners". George Mason did it, fair and square. No one can ever take it away from them. Don't begrudge them because you don't know how fun the NCAA tournament can be if you get past the first Friday.

5. Should I continue to embarrass you?

There are so many ironies with you still being here, your post, and namely your screen name, which wraps everything up into one, big, embarrassing bow.

Why are you still wasting your time at the "kid's table"? That's right. Because you're not as "big time" as you want everybody to believe.

I would never trade one lucky run to the Final Four, not yours or George Mason's, for where Creighton is as a program.

The whole point is the ability to collect fancy banners. 1 banner is a fluke/lucky and doesn't prove anything. Get another and we can talk, ala Butler.

Also, this is the first time I've checked this site in months. I only logged in today cause I was bored out of my mind. The Valley hasn't crossed my mind in months. Im gonna go back to that cause this experience has showed me how grateful I am to be done with the Valley and shocker fans.

Spoken like someone without any fancy banners. Also, we're ready to talk, as this isn't the first banner. Thanks for playing though.

Creighton fans keep saying that after they post some entitlement trash on here and get owned by 9 other schools' fans. Then they keep coming back. I think we'd all appreciate if they held to their commitments.

I'd be grateful to quit making hollow arguments if I were you, too. It can't feel good.

BTW....no one takes your "Final Four" appearance in 1965 seriously. There were only 23 teams in the entire tournament. Trying doing it in the modern era of college bball.

There are multiple elements to be considered in trying to determine whether one BB program is better than another. In September, Sports Illustrated (on-line) did an article on college basketball's current top 20 basketball programs. Not surprisingly, no MVC program made that list. Creighton was one of 15 programs given honorable mention.

Isn't there a Big East board somewhere where Jays fans can go to brag about their elite program?
