WSU minus Ron Baker = 12-6 in the MVC and 2nd in the MVC

WSU plus Ron Baker = 4-1 in the NCAA's and #4 (or maybe 3) in the nation.

That wasn't totally on Baker. Armstead and Early got better as the season progressed, which is typical for the first-year guys. All Baker did was to look like a Sr on both ends of the court and hit a couple of critical 3's against the top teams in the nation.

That's part of the reason the NBA scouts checking out Early in practices are all asking about Baker before they leave town. The other part of the reason they ask about Baker is that they just watched Baker in practices.

Nothing from last year, when Baker wasn't scouted, and from practices, where NBA scouts are showing interest, matters until Baker shows it on the court in the next 3 years. Baker does seem to have some potential.

Any info on what NBA scouts are saying about Odum?

Hey, We thoroughly enjoy rooting for the team the Aces swept during the Final Four. We were even rooting for them to pull a Butler!

Not eye popping but Deon Mitchell is averaging 13.5 ppg in 27 mpg while shooting just over 48%. Leads the team in assists ad well. He's going to have to do a little better job of finishing his drives if he wants to claw his way into All - MVC honors besides an honorable mention. He'd definitely be closer to 17-20 ppg if he got more generous rolls and bounces from the rim, but he is drawing lots of contact and calls on his drives which is good to see.

Keep an eye on Gulley especially with Marshall out for a while. Hit the key late three against Liberty then blocked the attempted tying shot. He scores, rebounds, defends as well as any small forward in the league and is getting more confident in his surgical knee weekly.

Mitchell, VanVleet, and Thomas were all left off the list as I don't feel that any of them are legitimately in the discussion for POY. All three are potential 2nd teamers, but not at that next level.
