Missouri Southern outscored Arkansas in the second half. And Central Missouri had a lead on Mizzou at halftime as well.

It's probably not a great sign but it doesn't make me think they are cellar bound just yet.

St. John's needed a bucket in the last 20 seconds to beat SF State. Illinois was trailing Northwood in the 2nd half last night. Lotta kids on DII and DIII rosters that could be playing DI, and these games mean a lot to them. Not surprised in the least with a lot of these results.

Were we talking this year were we not? You are right that was a horrible loss, but does not have any bearing on this season.

I don't know if it has 'NO' bearing on this season.

It definitely has bearing on fans that probably shouldn't be throwing stones for a couple of years regarding RPI-killing.

Please explain to me where in the RPI formula a loss form the previous year factors in.... In that case I'm guess the shocks are still hindered by the double dip they received from the kangaroos.....

Wait, you complained about somebody talking about last year and then you bring up something that happened 6 years ago? As if those two are even remotely comparable?

MSU lost to a SWAC team last year. That is still fresh in the minds of everyone, as it should be. That was bad. WSU lost to a Summit team 6 years ago and has since won the Valley, gone to 2 NCAA's, and advanced to a Final Four. How is that remotely similar?

The whole point was that a MSU fan whose school lost to a SWAC school less than 12 months ago probably shouldn't be the first person talking about tanking RPI's.

Can you read? Every team in this league has laid its share of eggs. It is a new year and if you think a game played in 2012 has any impact on 2013 you are crazy.

Can you read? Nobody said a game last year is going to have a direct impact on the RPI this year, perception maybe, but not actual numbers. However, as was originally pointed out, it looks pretty silly for an MSU fan to be calling out RPI's already, given their most recent RPI issues (going winless in the non-con, losing to a SWAC school, etc.).

Please point me to where I attacked a schools RPI in this thread. I simply stayed that the leagues RPI could be considerably worse by starting with a 2. If you are going to focus all of your attention on last season do be it, but even as bad as the Bears were last year they still had a better RPI than Loyola... Lastly, let me worry about what looks silly, if the Bears lay an egg than I have some crow to eat until then I will continue to worry about programs that lose to d2 teams. Just as you are worried about a program that lost to a SWAC team.

Why would you worry about teams losing to D2 teams? Especially in exhibition games? That's the 1-2 combo of NO BEARING on RPI.

Let's see. Last year non-conference RPI.

Team A: 9-4, RPI 149. not great, but solid top-half of nation's teams and won't sink others when they play

Team B: 1-10, RPI 314. Ouch, bottom 10% of teams in the nation. An anchor on any conference foe.

Which would you rather have?

Give me the team that is mediocre in the non-con and tanks in conference. That's a bonus to the at large resume.
