That's great and all, but the fact remains that he still physically assaulted someone and then resisted arrest. Both of which are crimes, and he won't miss any game time because of it. We aren't saying he should be wearing orange instead of red and white, but it's a very poor precedent to set when someone breaks the law and doesn't face repercussions for his actions that just about every other student athlete in the conference would also face. People have received suspensions for infractions much less serious than criminal misdemeanors. It just looks worse when the first opponent is a nationally ranked team, although I'm not going to buy the idea that he missed a suspension simply because the Rebirds stood even less of a chance without him.
[Insert snappy comeback]

That was some crafty spin work by Mr. Muller.
Think anybody will buy it?

I did, but I happen to know the undisclosed circumstances as well.

It sounds like Daishon should have gotten a better lawyer if he was innocent of these charges with these undisclosed circumstance.

Thursday, November 07, 2013 RESIST/PC OFF/CORR EMP/FRFTR A Criminal Misdemeanor Guilty

Thursday, November 07, 2013 BATTERY / MAKES PHYSICAL CONTACT A Criminal Misdemeanor Guilty

It seems odd that Daishon didn't miss any time. When Will Egolf got caught buying prescription meds last season, they just went by the book and he missed 4 games (10%). I can't believe a school the size of ISU wouldn't have some rule in place.

The undisclosed circumstance is that the girl was asking for it.

Even if he was being antagonized mercillously, and then she started pushing him and fell down, and then pressed charges and everybody saw it...even then, he also got cited for resisting. That's one game on its own, MINIMUM! One more for being somewhere he shouldn't have been and a third to keep the others in line. Nah, he's a good kid.

He was docked two games, Marquette and Quincy. So I guess that's one over your "minimum." You guys don't know about Community Rights and Responsibilities...

Exhibitions...by definition, they don't count.

Actually, by definition any game is just that. A game. They are called exhibition games, but they're still games. If they weren't games, then they wouldn't be called exhibition games because the word "games" is in there, so they were games. Words used goes a long way in clarity of communication. If you want to say regular-season games, that is one thing. Then you need to clarify that because that is being more specific than saying just games. Just saying games means any type of games which includes exhibition games, regular-season games, post-season games or anything else.
