Pickens and Marshall update

Postby glm38 » November 26th, 2013, 5:10 pm

Still no official word but we are hearing "unofficially" that both players will be out 4 to 6 weeks. That's not good but it could have been much worse. From where I was sitting both injuries looked pretty bad. I'm especially glad for Pickens as a serious injury would have ended his career.

Still a huge loss for us for the non con. We lost our best defender by far and our best all around player. But we have some depth so hopefully this will give some of those players more of a chance to develop. Mvouika, Thurman, and Thomas have all played well at times so hopefully they can fill the void.

WSU had several injuries to deal with last year and it worked out well for them. Hopefully it does for us too.

If you can weather the storm, this will be good for the Bears.

Sprain seems to now be the official word, per Lyndall Scranton.

6 weeks means they come back just in time for a trip to Peoria. Can you make it 7 weeks? :D

I know I'm quite selfish, but I wish this would have happened 4 weeks from now. I don't care if MSU goes 0-18 in conference, its the non-con where we need you.

Glad to hear they'll be back, specially for Pickens, and I'm sure that in the long run, it will make MSU better come February/March.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

Hope they get back soon or not at all and get a medical redshirt if possible.

They are likely to miss 6-8 games I don't think a redshirt is in order.

That sounds like the best - bad news. Hopefully Ron and Thurman step up and help out in the non con.

The BCS games will be tough but after those 3 I would think the bears be fine.

The latest news is that both players will be back for our Dec 13 game with Oral Roberts. That's really good news for us and the rest of our non con schedule.
