Not a good time to be on the short end of a 3-minute 6-2 run when it starts with 4 minutes left in the game.

Sycs down 1 with a minute and change to go.

Odum with a layup and a steal in the last 30 seconds. Then a couple of throws seal the deal.

Sycamores win! 73-70, last second 3 bounces off the rim for Pepperdine. ISU now 3-2 vs. D-I teams, 5-2 overall. Pepperdine actually had a pretty good game. They shot 59% from the field, 50% from 3 point range, and outrebounded ISU 26-17. Turnovers and missed FT's are what cost Pepperdine the win.

So a mixed bag for ISU in Alaska, a loss to an 0-4 Tulsa squad to start, followed by a very nice resume-building win over D-II Alaska-Anchorage, followed by a narrow 3 point win over West Coast Conference opponent Pepperdine. Sycamores finish in 5th place in the Great Alaskan Shootout, maybe we'll get a 5th place trophy?

Certainly a little disappointing from a team of seniors picked to finish 2nd. However, after the Tulsa loss to open, ISU took what they were given and won a couple of games. Keep bringing it!

we are just a very poor defensive team Wu, I don't think we're going to be as good as some people seem to think. I am guessing we'll be a mid pack MVC team, 4th-5th place, when it's all said and done. We'll win some big games, but we'll also have some inexplicable losses to teams like SIU, ILS, or Loyola.
