As far as the watered down comment. I think we can all agree that the Valley without Creighton is less than with Creighton. I believe that's what the author meant by the comment but the phrasing was a little confusing. Regardless as a WSU fan I found the entire article annoying and the author overall to be ignorant of WSU basketball and the Valley. I wouldn't worry about it.

Agreed. The MVC doesn't have Creighton. No kidding. If, say, Indiana State played more consistently and was a top 25 team, the league would be just fine. Really get sick of hearing about Creighton after awhile. Nothing the MVC could do about it, they left, it hurts, but anyone who actually knows much about the league knows its still not a bad league. Just time for some other schools to step up.

I'm honestly not worried about Creighton. I'm worried about the lack of consistency from ISUb, UNI's poor performance to this point, and Loyola's poor performance against a poor schedule thus far.

Drake has been one of the few bright spots for the Valley to this point. Missouri State is obviously doing well, but 320+ SOS will do that for you.

I'm not worried about Creighton being gone ... I'm worried about most of the Valley teams being worse this year than last. Of the teams I expected to be top five, I'm still waiting to see how good Missouri State is, and the others outside of WSU have disappointed me. I expected ISUb, UNI, and Bradley to be better.

What did you expect Bradley's record to be after the first six games?

I for one expected Bradley to be a mid pack to Thursday night in St. Louis team this year. I still expect that.

I didn't mention record. I'm more bothered by Bradley losing by 26 and 12 to the only two decent teams they've played.

Records only mean so much right now when we're playing a lot of bad teams. I expected Bradley to be a mid-pack team, but to be a bit more competitive against decent teams than they've been so far.

Granted, I might not be giving Illinois enough credit, and overstating the loss to Arizona State ... if Bradley hadn't shot 33% FTs that would have been a single digit loss and more respectable.

I think Bradley avoids Thursday night this year. From what I've seen, they seem to be an improved team from last year with Blake and Grier coming in and Lemon will be a force this year. With the addition of Loyola and the loss of Creighton, the Thursday night dynamics have changed. You are losing a consistent non-Thursday team and adding a likely Thursday team. Bradley's two losses so far against quality opponents are not enough to convince me they are a Thursday night team.

I happen to agree, but some Bradley fans don't think there's a difference between a 1-point loss and a 30-point loss. A loss is a loss, right?

Margin of victory is huge. A good team is going to lose games -- it doesn't matter who you are. You play too many games in basketball to not lose some. But good teams don't get blown out very often.

Louisville, for instance, only lost one game last year by more than 5 points, and no games by double digits. They lost five games overall, but they were always competitive, even in the losses.

You just don't see good teams that lose by 30 points. Last year's Final Four teams had seven losses combined by double digits last season -- WSU had two (Creighton shot better than 70% in one), Michigan lost by 19 @Michigan State, Syracuse had four (Pitt, Georgetown x2, and Louisville). Syracuse's 22 point loss to Georgetown was the only loss by more than 20.
