I highly doubt any school in the MVC including WSU will ever get a player with the abilities of Baker to walk on in the next few decades.

WSU always finds a way. I think it was even more pronounced back in the 1980's, Wichita had Carr and Levingston...then comes Xavier McDaniel. Seemed those guys could have won an NBA championship!

Yes, but none of those guys walked on. While we are reminiscing WSU in the early 80s, we also had Ozell Jones (who had a cup of coffee in the NBA) and McDonald's All-American's Greg Dreiling (who later transferred to KU) and Aubrey Sherrod. While he didn't make it in the NBA, he did average 17 ppg as a long range shooter that played before the 3 point shot.

Didn't Ozell Jones end up transferring to one of the Cal State schools? Those WSU teams were a lot of fun to watch.

BEARZ77 hasn't backtracked yet but I am sure that everyone else agrees that his argument is in the dumpster. Baker does everything well.

You're about 2 days behind. Gave him his due after his game preceding SLU and also for his outstanding effort against SLU.

It's early but at this point Baker is the best player on the best team. He's been nothing short of incredible. In the SLU game I thought his best play was when the Shox really needed a bucket and he backed his man down from halfcourt and scored. It looked like he could almost score at will.

In the games I've seen Early hasn't quite lived up to expectations IMO. He's been good no doubt but not great. I think he would be better off playing inside more and using his athleticism more especially when his shot isn't falling. But he came through in the SLU game at the end. Still it's surprising to me that Baker is the Shox best player by such a wide margin.

Few that have seen the Shockers would argue with this analysis.

Baker is this week's MVC Player of the Week
Random MVCFans.com member, circa 2007: "Gregg Marshall is in over his head in this conference."

This is also known as the "which school has more fans registered here poll." It is about as unscientific as it gets but it does tell us which school has more fans registered here  .
