Time to move on from this week's event UE Vs MSU opens as a pick. Doesn't surprise anyone after the yesterday's announcement and UE road record. Hopefully the admin will lock the Sawvell thread as it has turned in to a Marty Simmons bashing party

Is Marty off limits to be criticized? While Marshall is winning and presently more difficult to jump on, everyone on here including the mighty Aces, has bashed him at every opportunity.

A player made a decision to leave school. Nobody knows the reason why except the player and possibly the coach. I would not be surprised to see Sawvell at KWC with his good friend Asst coach Chinn, who finished last year @ UE. It isn't about Marty. Sawvell pulled the trigger. Whatever it is it is.

Now aren't you assuming things about Marty just like others may be assuming things about Sawvell? How do you know it isn't about Marty?

I don't Nor am I going to assume that it is. Cut and dry A snot nose kid quit a team because he didn't feel that he had to honor a commiment to his contract with it. He agree for the price of admission to a liberal arts college to play ball for them as do multiple student athletes every year. He broke his end of the bargin If you want to go to an expensive school for free and asked to do this or that, you do it. It is called being a grown up or knowing your responsibilities. Doesn't matter what you are ask to do,unless it is unlawful, You do it Price of the contract! Man Up and do what is right whether you agree or not. It is the real world. Sawvell didn't like the price of admission He quit. Marty's fault ...NOPE Sawvell decide to go in a different direction .

Better answer is go to your job tomorrow and tell your boss you're not doing things his way any more. go ahead and explain why you think your way is better, If he agrees thats great for you! if he doesn't you have two options Sawvell saw his and excercised his options. You can too. It is a matter of what makes you happy. KWC may make Sawvell happy

If I was one of the best performers at my job and got demoted due to nepotism I might leave too...

^ This.
But more importantly Sixth Ace, you speak as if you truly know what happened. How do you come by these facts as you have laid them out? I am honestly curious, as I would like to know why we are losing one of of most talented players bc of lack of PT. I changed jobs last year bc I didn't think my boss paid me enough for the work I did, and another employer almost doubled my salary. It would be my old boss's prerogative to throw me under the bus on my way out, but that wouldn't make it true.

The whole Simmons and Simmons thing reminds me of the Greg McDermott quote for not recruiting Dougie at ISU; 'he has to be a star or a bench-warmer, otherwise its too difficult on everyone.'

I wonder if little Simmons is too in-between to be successful?

Blake is definitely a bench warmer. Marty just won't admit it and looks like he is trying to run off the competition.
