Want to spend $100 to watch a basketball game?

WSU's off-campus game against Tulsa is close to that.

Select-A-Seat has lower-bowl tickets behind a basket for $52. Upper bowl seats behind a basket are $26. StubHub has people offering tickets in not great locations for upwards of $90.

This is insane. Season ticket holders didn't get first choice of seats. There's some "Gold Club" or something that automatically gets 4 prime seating sections for all events at the off-campus arena. By the time season ticket holders got their tickets, it was too late to spend the bucks to get a good seat - they were all sold.

I got moved from a half-court spot on campus to a similar altitude behind the northwest corner of the court.

Season ticket holders at WSU are putting up with a crappy cupcake OOC schedule. We understood the scheduling problems and reluctantly accepted watching boring games. We finally got a game scheduled against our historic rival (Tulsa) and then we get shafted for seating at that game.

Wow...that seems pretty rough for the Athletic Dept to take a dump on its season ticket holders like that.

Any explanation on why they didn't get first choice?

I agree you probably got screwed on location but season ticket holders had this included in their season package at regular ticket price right? They don't have to cough up an extra $100 do they?

Maybe so, but that's like a week's salary for the average WSU fan.

Just kidding.

I spend on average more than $100 for us to see every Creighton game. It's the price of entertainment.

I would certainly be pissed if I got shafted on the seats for the best nonconference game though. What is the explanation for that? Why aren't they in a comparable location?

I'm beginning to see why WSU fans give so much crap to Creighton, Bradley, etc. about renting their arenas.

Please be aware though, that just because you rent an arena, it doesn't mean that you can't give your season ticket holders good seats. Sounds like WSU's athletic department didn't know what they were doing when they agreed to move a game there. If the general public was/is able to buy better seats than the season tix holders, there is a real problem.

Obviously if WSU had more practice renting, they'd be able to get this all worked out.

There were a handful of seats sold to the public that were better than season tickets.

Unfortunately, it's not a perfect science fitting a roundhouse into a square box.
