I can guarantee that if SIU went undefeated the rest of way, they make the tourney. Of course I have a greater chance giving Kate Upton a shocker then the Dawgs have of finishing .500 in conference.

A winning streak at the end of the yr is what college hoops is all about!

Its not to early to think about at larges, but, all your doing is getting yourself in the discussion and then its what? 9 guys decide?

Love IT!

Personally Ill take a nice NIT run any yr.

Tho NCAA championship is prior #1 but Id take a NIT championship over a Sweet 16 any yr!

As a fan of a team that has recently won an NIT championship and reached the Sweet 16, I really don't think there is any comparison. Take the Sweet 16 all day long, every day, and twice on Sunday.

The NIT is a great tournament for program building (or even maintaining, if you're in it every 3-4 years between NCAAs). Getting extra practice time and extra games against quality competition is great. Winning it is a really great step and great accomplishment for the program. But the reality is that the media exposure just isn't there. Making the Sweet 16 gives you an entire week of dedicated national press talking about how great your team is.

I've been a big fan of Geno since he was hired. As such, I've been a little disappointed so far this year. Hopefully he can get Bradley to the NIT this year, as I think that would be a very nice positive step for the program.

I agree with Cdizzle. After the NIT championship, sports radio in Wichita had the same question. Most people that called in would rather win a game in the NCAA tourney than with the NIT championship. I can't even name who won the NIT last year.

I agree that getting BU to the NIT this yr would be a positive step. But, maybe we overrated him, because I for one expect to be in the NIT! The IUPUI loss is as bad as it gets. But thats the only real setback so far.....................Tyshon Pickett is having a GREAT yr............ im not as down as some on this group.

MSU - No good wins - no bad losses. Only remaining good wins: Louisville and 2 or 3 with WSU. Probably need 2 wins out of 4 possibles against Louisville and WSU. Then lose no more than 1 or 2 games against Valley teams with rpi's in the 150 and up range.

Drake - No bad losses. W over Fresno is at best a "marginal" quality W. Only remaining chance for a quality win is WSU. NM State and Albany are two more "marginal" quality wins, but top-100 W's don't go far with the Selection Committee. BCS league teams with losing conference records typically have several top-100 W's.

InSU - Current rpi is 96. Best win to date is Notre Dame, whose current rpi is 175. Bad loss to Tulsa (rpi - 186). Past Notre Dame, best win is Pepperdine (rpi 224). Coming up is Belmont at home and at St. Louis. Win both of those and enter league play at 11-2 and they may have moved back into the conversation, but with virtually no margin of error for losing to a lower-ranking Valley team. I have no confidence in InSU beating SLU on the road or for Belmont maintaining a top-50 rpi.
