Belmont is only school that makes any sense for the Valley.

I thought western Kentucky would have been good for the valley. Followed by Valpo then Belmont

I would think the next addition (s) (if there are going to be any) will come from the west to help the MSU/WSU travel. But who knows. Maybe our friend from UMKC will show up and lobby for the Roos to be added to the MVC in a year or two?? It's really too bad they're so awful because if they really did have good teams and were consistently good then the KC market would be good to have in the MVC

UMKC is not relevant in the KC market and even if they were decent I doubt they would be. KC is a total KU, MU market. What is awful about losing to Iowa St by 59 and Nebraska Omaha by 30?

UMKC's only selling point is geography. For me, geography is only a sweetener to an already substantial resume…so no Roos fore me please.

I totally agree UMKC is bad and will always be 10th fiddle in KC, I was just suggesting it's too bad UMKC isn't a consistent top 150 RPI team. If that were the case I'd be ok with them in the MVC, it'd make for easy travel for nearly every school and they'd be right in the footprint of the MVC, but it's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

I thought last year that the Valley should have went after Belmont, I wouldn't mind Western Kentucky although with them being a FBS football team I am not sure that would work out, North Dakota St. not the worst team ever (although I truly don't want them), and after that I really don't know, I don't want Chicago St. or ICU, maybe Valpo, it would be nice to get someone on the western side of the conference.

now that ORU is back in the summit, it helps the future of a possible SUPER CONFERENCE with the MVC with ORU, OMAHA, NDSU, SDSU joining the MVC. what say you.>?

Chicago State is a worse choice that UMKC. School has struggled in bball for decades and is located in a rough part of town. The University of Illinois at Chicago, on the other hand, has had success in the past and a new coach who seems like he knows what he is doing. They are located in a nice part of town and have what might would be the best baseball stadium in the MVC if they were a member. I still would rather something in the western part of the conference to open up. I agree with those who think 4 Illinois schools are enough though one could argue that more and more exposure for the conference in the Chi-town area is a good thing. 3rd largest metro area in the country I believe.

WKU is leaving the Sunbelt after this year and moving to the CUSA. I doubt they are in the mood to a yet a different move and one that would hurt their football program. If you haven't been noticing they are making some big strides in football. Also, CUSA reunites them with their biggest rival Middle Tennessee which is a very convenient drive both ways for each school and they don't like each other even though they really do.

I guess it is fun to discuss and speculate on but I don't foresee the MVC moving beyond the 10 team model.
