UNI needed that win. Nice game by the panthers. VCU is a tricky team to play with them dancing all over the court

Are you trying to tell me a team playing from behind which fouled consistently at the end in an attempt to extend the game ended up committing a disproportionate amount of fouls?

Oh the horror!!!

Not to mention that VCU was 8-30 in the first half and 12-35 in the 2nd half. UNI on the other hand shot ~65% in the 2nd half to scoring 50 pts.

But yes, it was clearly the officials having one out for the Rams that gave UNI the win
[Insert snappy comeback]

Nice win, UNI.

I didn't see any of this game. I was low on UNI coming into this year, and until yesterday was looking pretty right. But I was also high on VCU, though not quite as high as many.

Did UNI's pace and home field advantage take some of the bite out of VCU's D? I know VCU is below average once they are mired in a half-court game. Always a good sign when your guards can handle that kind of pressure.

UNI completely controlled every aspect of that game yesterday. Watching that game reminded me of the defence from late in the 08-09 and 09-10 seasons.

UNI did look good. Pace would be a good way to describe the way the Panthers won. UNI still needs a shooter from the guard position and a shot blocker in the paint, but they will be extremely difficult to beat at home.

Congrats on a very nice win!

:bounce:

Going into Saturday, I though if UNI could pull off the win against VCU the Valley would have a good chance to go 5-0 on Saturday. Unfortunately the conference lost a couple I really thought were pretty sure wins.
