It goes without saying that Evansville should beat Jackson State at home. But Jackson State is better than they're getting credited for, no need for the big-timing exaggeration. Won at Air Force, played Tulane, Mississippi State & Wyoming very close on the road, played a good La. Tech team lose. Even good SWAC teams have terrible non-conference records mainly because they're always on the road. JSU is probably a top 2-3 team in that league this year, looks like not a terrible team.

A MVC team should NEVER LOSE AT HOME to a SWAC team....EVER. Especially to a team that has 18 wins over the last two seasons combined.

FWIW, I did my research just now - Jackson State is a preseason bottom half SWAC team AND they did not have a single player on ANY of the preseason SWAC teams.

They finished last year 9-9 in conference and 11-18 overall.

The year before they were 7-24 (5-13).
