KenPom http://kenpom.com/blog/ says out of the 19 remaining teams that are undefeated in the regular season

There are nine unbeatens remaining, but the only one with a realistic chance of making it to the end of the regular season without a loss is Wichita State.

RDR - never. We will ride this thread to all it Glory. And when WSU does lose Jackwagon and the Purple Teenager can come in and gloat, but we will all know they are the true losers.

I kind of hate to bump this thread, but...

...I'm going on record expecting the Shox to be undefeated going to St. Louis.

This is not a post to downplay or downgrade the competition in the Valley. I've seen the Shox play every game - some in person, and I think they can run the regular-season table.

To make it through 18 games without a slip-up is difficult. SIU isn't very good this year, but if the Shox take them lightly, or have too many players expecting their teammates will take care of the game, the Dawgs can beat the Shox.

I have more confidence in this team to do what's needed to win than I've had in past teams - including last year's F4 team. In my opinion, Demetric Williams and Malcolm Armstead had abnormally bad games in some of the Shox losses. There also appeared to be some attitude of "someone will pick it up to get the W" on the team last year.

I'm not seeing that this year. Baker and VanVleet are showing sky-high BBIQ. Early has been an underachiever, but when the games have been on the line, he's been deadly.

When Baker and VanVleet had foul trouble against Alabama and spent major minutes on the bench, Cotton played PG and scored 19.

The Shox have the tools and talent to make it through Valley play without a loss. I'm not really expecting it, but I'm confident enough to say it can be done. I'll add - it should be done. I will not be surprised or disappointed if they lose some games - stuff happens.

I agree the Shockers are good enough to go through the conference season undefeated. But I don't think it happens. While a lot of Valley teams are underperforming ISUb, MSU, and UNI are still pretty good. In the 6 games against those 3 teams chances are there will be 2 or 3 games that they ( Shox opponent) will be red hot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Bears match up to the Shockers. I know - be careful what you wish for but it should be great fun.

I agree. Those three teams will give WSU some good games. Drake is solid, and Illinois State has the talent to get hot.

I don't think any Valley team can matchup with WSU at their best, but they'll have some rough nights. Everyone does.

WSU odds have decreased significantly after the last couple non-conference game where the MVC actually won a few. Even after winning against Davidson, the odds dropped to 4.9% of going undefeated and WSU is now expected to lose 3 games in the MVC. Biggest risk for losses is @ISUB, at UNI, at DU

If I were the Shockers, I'd want to have a loss....maybe two......maybe three.....maybe four. Nothing worse than the 'hanger of not having lost a game before embarking on a possible tour.

Well, that's probably the best explanation of why you aren't a fan of the Shocks.

I don't get that attitude. Why wouldn't you want to win EVERY game?

That would be an incredible achievement. Now, are you saying the odds of a successful post season run increase with every loss? I would disagree there as well. Win out and they might be a 1 seed (probably not but possible). That means a 16 seed and a pretty decent chance to advance. Lose 4 and a protected seed is unlikely.

I just don't get that thought process...

That is the difference between winners and losers. Losers are afraid what happens if they have success. Winners strive to win every time out and are unafraid of losing. They want that ball with 3 seconds left down by 2 and want the opportunity to hit that 3 pointer to win the game. Losers don't want the ball.
